With only three events left in season six, Bellator puts another fantastic card together for this Friday Night’s Bellator 68 event. This card will feature the season six tournament finals in the featherweight division as well as a bantamweight tournament semi-final fight. Also on the card is a battle between two former UFC fighters and a rematch from a Strikeforce fight that ended in controversy.
Kicking off the action is a welterweight division fight as Waachiim Spiritwolf (9-9-1) again battles Marius “The Whitemare†Zaromskis (16-6-0). Waachiim Spiritwolf is currently undefeated in Bellator competition, having defeated Jaime Jara at Bellator 35. Marius Zaromskis has won three of four heading into this fight, including a December 2010 victory over Kazushi Sakuraba. This first fight ended in controversy after an accidental eye poke, but it will be Marius Zaromskis getting the win this time.
We move to the heavyweight division for the next fight as Carmelo “The Fury†Marrera (14-5-0) battles Seth “The Silverback†Petruzelli (14-6-0). Carmelo Marrera has won four of five heading into this one, last defeating Scott Barrett at Xtreme Fighting Championships 14. Seth Petruzelli is currently undefeated in Bellator competition, defeating Ricco Rodriguez by knockout at Bellator 48. This fight should play out exactly the way that the Ricco Rodriguez fight did, with Seth Petruzelli as the victor.
Up next is a Bellator Bantamweight Tournament Semi-Final encounter as Marcos “Loro†Galvao (11-5-0) faces Travis “T-Train†Marx (19-3-0). Marcos Galvao punched his ticket to the semi-finals when he defeated Ed West by unanimous decision at Bellator 65. Travis Marx found himself in the second round when he out pointed Masakatsu Ueda back at Bellator 64. The majority of this fight should be spent on the ground, but it will be Marcos Galvao getting the win in the end.
Headlining this card is the Bellator Middleweight Tournament Finals as Marlon Sandro (22-3-0) takes on Daniel Straus (19-4-0). Marlon Sandro earned his spot in the tournament finals by defeating both Roberto Vargas and Alexandre Bezzera. Daniel Straus got himself to the tournament finals by defeating the duo of Jeremy Spoon and Mike Corey. This fight is a classic striker versus grappler encounter, but it will be the striker in Marlon Sandro winning the tournament.
