Despite plenty of changes to the main card, UFC 146 is set to culminate this Saturday Night with a loaded card full of heavyweights. While the heavyweights will be occupying the pay-per-view, there are plenty of other great fighters occupying the preliminary card. Three fights on Facebook will begin the event on Saturday Night, including an interesting lightweight division fight.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Mike Brown (25-8-0) battles Daniel “The Pit†Pineda (17-7-0). Mike Brown has won one of three since returning to the UFC, with that lone victory coming over Nam Phan at UFC 133. Daniel Pineda is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeating both Pat Schilling and Mackens Semerzier. This fight will be the swan song for Mike Brown as Daniel Pineda picks up the victory to remain undefeated in the UFC.
Up next is a light heavyweight division fight as Kyle “Kingsbu†Kingsbury (11-3-0) takes on Glover Teixeira (17-2-0). Kyle Kingsbury has won four of his last five heading into this fight, with that lone loss coming to Stephan Bonnar at UFC 139. Glover Teixeira will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he has previously defeated former UFC Heavyweight Champion Ricco Rodriguez. This fight is definitely going to be an interesting one to check out as it will be Kyle Kingsbury getting the victory here.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division fight as Paul “Sassangle†Sass (12-0-0) faces Jacob “Christmas†Volkmann (14-2-0). Paul Sass is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated both Mark Holst and Michael Johnson. Jacob Volkmann has won five straight heading into this fight, including a victory over UFC Ultimate Fighter 8 Champion Efrain Escudero. This is a really underrated fight because the winner will become a top ten fight in the division and that winner will be Paul Sass.
