The historic first season of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Live culminates on Friday Night with an action packed card featuring five big fights. A welterweight title eliminator headlines the card along with the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Live. Also, a past UFC Ultimate Fighter champion is in action and a few future prospects will be seeing action in the octagon.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Justin “The American Kid†Lawrence (3-0-0) is in action against John Cofer (7-1-0). Justin Lawrence is an undefeated fighter who made his professional MMA debut in Strikeforce, defeating Max Martyniouk. John Cofer enters the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he has not suffered a defeat in over two years. The experience advantage will be a huge factor in this fight and that is what’s going to give John Cofer the victory.
We stay in the featherweight division for the next fight as Max “Blessed†Holloway (4-1-0) competes against Pat “Thrilling†Schilling (5-1-0). Max Holloway is currently winless in UFC competition, having lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 143 by submission. Pat Schilling is also winless in UFC competition, having suffered a submission defeat to Daniel Pineda at UFC On FX I. This fight is essentially a battle to avoid the pink slip and it will be Pat Schilling avoiding the pink slip in this one.
More featherweight action is up next as Jonathan Brookins (13-4-0) battles Charles “Do Bronx†Oliveira (15-2-0). Jonathan Brookins has won two of three in UFC competition, having defeated both Michael Johnson and Vagner Rocha. Charles Oliveira is currently undefeated as a featherweight in the UFC, defeating Eric Wisely at UFC On Fox II. This winner of this fight will move up to contenders status in the division and that fighter will be Charles Oliveira.
Up next is the UFC Ultimate Fighter Live Finals as Mike “Maverick†Chiesa (7-0-0) takes on Al Iaquinta (5-1-0). Mike Chiesa is an undefeated fighter who has seen his last four victories all come within the first round of the fight. Al Iaquinta has fought his entire professional career in the Ring Of Combat promotion, this will mark his first pro fight outside of that promotion. These two fighters have been pretty dominant during this seasons tournament, but it will be Al Iaquinta winning it all.
Headlining this card is a welterweight division fight as Jake “The Juggernaut†Ellenberger (27-5-0) faces Martin “The Hitman†Kampmann (19-5-0). Jake Ellenberger has won six straight fighters leading into Friday Night, most notably beating Diego Sanchez at UFC On Fuel TV I. Martin Kampmann enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which includes a come from behind victory over Thiago Alves. The winner of this fight is next in line for a UFC Welterweight Title opportunity and that fighter will be Jake Ellenberger.
