(Note: As of this writing on 6/12, the full card for this Friday’s event has not been released and with over five MMA card previews taking place in the next ten days, I decided to preview the part of the card made official by the promotion.)
The UFC is not the only MMA promotion that can put a show on for the troops as the Titan Fighting Championships will be doing the same thing on Friday Night. While this event is simply a way of saying thanks to the troops, it does feature a pretty decent card to watch on HDNet. The card will be headlined by a pair of UFC veterans and a lot of top notch up and coming fighters that are worth checking out.
Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division fight as Wayman Carter (0-1-0) does battle with Gregg Van De Creek (0-0-0). Wayman Cater made his professional MMA debut earlier this year in a losing effort to Tyler Perry at Real Fighting Alliance II. Gregg Van De Creek will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight after fighting just once as an amateur. When picking these kinds of fights, experience is what becomes a factor in the choosing, but this time it will be the newcomer in Gregg Van De Creek getting the win.
Lightweights will step into the cage next as Jordan Johnson (6-2-0) battles Jake “The Librarian†Lindsey (4-0-0). Jordan Johnson enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, plus he has not achieved a victory in nearly a year. Jake Lindsey is an undefeated fighter who has achieved three of his four victories in the Victory fighting Championships. The next big lightweight prospect could be discovered in this fight and it will be Jake Lindsey remaining undefeated in the end.
Up next is a middleweight division affair as Brandon Bear (3-0-0) will be in action against Nick Budig (4-2-0). Brandon Bear is an undefeated fighter who has already fought once this year, defeating Ron Jackson at a Victory Fighting Championships event. Nick Budig is currently winless in Titan Fighting Championships competition, losing to Bobby Cooper at Titan 18. This fight has the potential to be the show stealer for the event, but it will be Nick Budig ending his opponents undefeated streak.
Headlining this card is a middleweight division fight as Jorge “The Sandman†Santiago (24-10-0) faces Jay Silva (8-6-0). Jorge Santiago is currently undefeated in Titan competition, having defeated Leonardo Pecanha at Titan 21. Jay Silva recently achieved the biggest victory of his MMA career when he defeated UFC Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Kendall Grove at Supreme Combat Championships IV. This is a great way to cap off an event for our troops and it will be Jorge Santiago pulling out the victory in the end.
