After a brief two week break, the UFC returns to the FX network with a card that features UFC Lightweight Title implications. Also, the final fight in the epic rivalry between lightweights Spencer Fisher and Sam Stout will be taking place. If that was not enough, a rising welterweight contender and a UFC Ultimate Fighter winner is in action.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Ross “The Real Deal†Pearson (13-5-0) competes against Cub Swanson (16-5-0). Ross Pearson is the UFC Ultimate Fighter 9 champion and has split both of his fights as a featherweight thus far. Cub Swanson is coming off of his first UFC victory, defeating George Roop by TKO at UFC On Fox II. This fight has the word “slugfest†written all over it and it will be Cub Swanson picking up the victory here.
Welterweights step into the cage next as Brian “Bad Boy†Ebersole (49-14-0) battles TJ Waldburger (15-6-0). Brian Ebersole is currently undefeated in UFC competition with wins over Chris Lytle, Claude Patrick and Dennis Hallman. TJ Waldburger has won three of four in UFC action, with that lone loss coming to top contender Johny Hendricks. The winner of this fight should move onto bigger fights in the division and it will be Brian Ebersole getting them in the end.
Up next is a lightweight division rubber match as Spencer “The King†Fisher (24-8-0) faces Sam “Hands Of Stone†Stout (17-7-0). Spencer Fisher won the second battle between himself and Sam Stout, which was the main event of UFC Ultimate Fight Night 10. Sam Stout won the inaugural meeting between the two, with the victory coming at UFC 58 in March 2006. This fight should be just as exciting as the last two, but it will be Sam Stout pulling out the victory to win the series.
Headlining this card is a lightweight division fight as Clay “The Carpenter†Guida (29-12-0) takes on Gray “The Bully†Maynard (10-1-0). Clay Guida is looking to rebound from a title eliminator loss to Ben Henderson, which happened at UFC On Fox I. Gray Maynard is coming off of an exciting two fight series with then-UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar, he failed to capture the gold. These are two of the most exciting fighters in the entire promotion, but it will be Clay Guida pulling out the win.
