RESURRECTION FIGHTING ALLIANCE III CARD PREVIEW PART TWO

By David Tees on 6/29/2012 9:14 PM

Twenty four hours later, the second portion of the Resurrection Fighting Alliance III fight card will be previewed right here. For those who don’t know, the event will be streamed for free at RFAfighting.com, the event takes place this Saturday Night. The event will feature a former UFC Heavyweight Champion and the headliner involves a UFC Ultimate Fighter Champion.

Our preview resumes with a welterweight division fight as Amir Khillah (10-4-0) competes against “The” James Krause (15-4-0). Amir Khillah enters the fight riding a five fight winning streak and he once fought Bellator Featherweight Champion Pat Curran. James Krause is currently undefeated in RFA competition, having defeated Mark Korzenowski back at RFA I. This fight will be the biggest test of Amir Khillah’s career, but he will be failing the test as James Krause gets the victory.

Lightweights step into the cage next as Jesus Adame (0-0-0) will be in action against Bubba Jenkins (2-0-0). Jesus Adame will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did compete many times as an amateur. Bubba Jenkins will be competing for the first time outside of the Tachi Palace Fights promotion, where he defeated both Josh Williams and Chris Gomez. This will be an interesting fight to check out, but it will be Bubba Jenkins remaining undefeated in the end.

We return to the welterweight division for the next fight as Bobby “Super Duper” Cooper (5-2-0) faces Chidi “Chidi Bang Bang” Njokuani (7-3-0). Bobby Cooper enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, including a victory over the highly touted Nick Budig. Chidi Njokuani also enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, with all but one of his victories coming in the first round. This is a battle between two top welterweight prospects, but it will be Chidi Njokuani getting the duke here.

Up next is a light heavyweight division fight as Ryan “The Hunter” Lopez (13-12-0) battles Maurice “Mo” Smith (13-13-0). Ryan Lopez has won three of four heading into this fight, with all three victories coming in the Sugar Creek Showdown promotion. Maurice Smith is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion who returned to action after a four year hiatus to defeat Jorge Cordoba at RFA II. This fight will have no impact on the future of MMA’s light heavyweight division, but it will be Maurice Smith getting the victory.

Headlining the card is a lightweight division fight as Dakota Cochrane (11-3-0) takes on Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (31-14-0). Dakota Cochrane enters the fight looking to end a two fight losing streak, but he holds a victory over UFC veteran Jamie Varner. Joe Stevenson competes for the first time since getting released by the UFC, which came after losing four straight in the promotion. This is an excellent main event to cap off the evening, but it will be Joe Stevenson righting the ship and getting the win.
