LEGACY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 12 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 7/11/2012 10:29 PM

The Legacy Fighting Championships returns to action this Friday Night with a card that will feature a guaranteed new flyweight champion. This event will also be historical because this event will be the first live MMA event to air on AXS TV, which used to be HDNet. The preliminary card of this event features six fights with a lot of great up and coming MMA competitors.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division fight as Lester Batres (1-1-0) is in action against Patrick Bierschwhales (1-1-0). Lester Batres is coming off of the first victory of his professional MMA career, which came over Justin Murray at Legacy FC 11. Patrick Bierschwhales has not competed in an MMA fight in nearly 18 months, with his last fight happening at Legacy FC 6. The long layoff is going to hurt Patrick Bierschwhales in this one as Lester Batres picks up the victory here.

More welterweight action is next as Mark Garcia (1-4-0) will be doing battle against Charles Ontiveros (0-0-0). Mark Garcia has had four of his five professional MMA fights in Legacy FC, with his lone career victory coming at Legacy FC 6. Charles Ontiveros will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did go undefeated as an amateur. Despite the huge professional MMA experience edge for Mark Garcia, it will be Charles Ontiveros starting off his pro career with a win.

Yet another welterweight battle is set as Jeremy Morris (2-1-0) will be seeing action against Levi West (0-0-0). Jeremy Morris is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated Justin Murray at Legacy FC 9. Levi West be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did win both of his amateur MMA fights. This fight should be an action packed encounter, but it will be Jeremy Morris getting the victory in this one.

Bantamweight fighters will be featured next as Jason Carter (1-1-0) has signed on to fight Jared Chaffee (2-0-0). Jason Carter is coming off his first professional MMA victory, but he has not competed in well over two years. Jared Chaffee is an undefeated fighter who fought less than a month ago, defeating David Armas at Immortal Kombat Fighting. This fight is a very hard one to call, but it will be Jared Chaffee keeping his undefeated streak alive.

Up next is a lightweight division fight as Ray Blodgett (6-1-0) has found someone to fight in Scotty Juarez (1-0-0). Ray Blodgett has fought five straight times thus far in Legacy FC, achieving victory in four of those encounters. Scotty Juarez made his professional MMA debut well over two years ago, defeating David McClung by submission. Scotty Juarez will be seeing his undefeated streak come to an end in this one as Ray Blodgett picks up the victory.

Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division fight as Justin Reiswerg (4-2-0) faces Cris “Chop” Rucker (1-2-0). Justin Reiswerg recently saw his four fight winning streak snapped at the hands of UFC veteran Pat Audinwood, that happened back at Legacy FC 10. Cris Rucker enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with his last victory happening back in December 2011. There is no way that I see Justin Reiswerg losing this fight, so it will obviously be him getting the duke on the prelims.
