Following what seemed like an injury bug epidemic, UFC 149 will finally be taking place this Saturday Night in Canada. There will be two fights airing on Facebook, keeping the streak alive of airing fights on the social media empire. The two fight preliminary card will feature fights in both the featherweight division and lightweight division.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division fight as Mitch Clarke (9-1-0) does battle with Anton Kuivanen (16-5-0). Mitch Clarke is currently winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to John Cholish back at UFC 140. Aton Kuivanen is also winless in UFC competition, with his loss coming to Justin Salas at UFC On Fuel TV I. This is essentially a must win fight for both fighters and it will be Anton Kuivanen picking up the much needed victory.
Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Antonio “Pato†Carvalho (13-5-0) battles Daniel “The Pit†Pineda (17-8-0). Antonio Carvalho is currently winless in UFC competition, having dropped a fight to Felipe Arantas at UFC 142. Daniel Pineda has won two of three in the UFC, having entered all three of his fights as a late replacement. This is a classic striker versus grappler encounter and it will be the grappler in Daniel Pineda getting the duke here.
