Based out of the great state of Rhode Island, Classic Entertainment & Sports MMA has spawned from a boxing company to a MMA company. Without even reaching its two year anniversary as of yet, the promotion has already featured fighters from the UFC, WEC and Bellator.
Of their eleven MMA events, ten have been held in the Twin Rivers Events Center, with one event happening in the Foxwoods Resort & Casino. The most recent big name fighter to find a home in CES MMA is John “Doomsday†Howard, who found a home in the promotion following his UFC release last year.
The promotion primarily recruits fighters from the Rhode Island and Massachusetts area, but fighters from other parts of the world have also stepped into the cage. Their next event, which takes place in early August, features the aforementioned UFC veteran John Howard, as well as WEC veteran Mike Campbell.
While the promotion does not feature any form of amateur fights, they do feature some of the best professional fighters in the region. The current stronghold of the MMA universe may be on the West Coast, but this East Coast based promotion is getting some of the limelight as well.
