This coming Saturday Night will see the fourth installment of UFC On Fox and the headliners will determine the next top contender to the UFC Light Heavyweight Title. Unlike past UFC events, there will be no preliminary card fights airing on Facebook, which has not happened in a long time. However, the Fuel TV Preliminary Card features key fights in both the light heavyweight and featherweight divisions.
Kicking off the action is a flyweight division fight as “Useless†Ulysses Gomez (9-2-0) does battle with John Moraga (10-1-0). Gomez will be making his debut riding a two fight winning streak, with both victories coming in the Tachi Palace Fights promotion. John Moraga is also making his UFC debut in this fight, with his lone loss coming to UFC veteran John Dodson. This UFC debut is a longtime coming for Ulysses Gomez and he will make it a successful debut on Saturday Night.
Featherweights hit the octagon next as Manny “The Anvil†Gamburyan (11-7-0) sees action against Michihiro Omigawa (13-11-0). Manny Gamburyan enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak, with his last victory coming in April 2010. Michihiro Omigawa has only won one of his last four, with that lone victory coming over Jason Young at UFC 138. This is a battle to avoid the pink slip for both fighters and it will be Michihiro Omigawa doing so as he outwrestles his opponent.
A pair of heavyweights will be up next as Philip De Fries (8-1-0) is going to be in action against Oli Thompson (9-3-0). Philip De Fries is coming off of the first loss of his professional career, which came to Stipe Miocic at UFC On Fuel TV I. Oli Thompson is currently winless in UFC competition, suffering a defeat to Shawn Jordan at UFC On FX II. These are two well-rounded heavyweights who know how to fight, but it will be Philip De Fries rebounding from his previous loss.
More featherweight action is up next as Josh “The Fluke†Grispi (14-3-0) competes against Rani Yahya (16-7-0). Josh Grispi has yet to achieve victory in the UFC, having suffered defeats to both Dustin Poirier and George Roop. Rani Yahya has split both of his fights in the UFC, having defeated Mike Brown and suffering a defeat to Chad Mendes. The majority of this fight should be contested on the ground and it will be Rani Yahya getting the duke in this one.
Up next is a light heavyweight division fight as “Mr. Wonderful†Phil Davis (9-1-0) battles Wagner “Caldeirao†Prado (8-0-0). Phil Davis is looking to rebound from his first career loss, which came at the hands of Rashad Evans at UFC On Fox II. Wagner Prado will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he has spent time competing in the Max Fights promotion. This fight will show how much Phil Davis improved since his first defeat as he will achieve victory on Saturday Night.
Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Cole “Magrinho†Miller (18-6-0) faces Nam Phan (17-10-0). Cole Miller is currently winless as a featherweight in the UFC, having suffered a defeat to Steven Siler at UFC On FX II. Nam Phan has only won one of four in the UFC, with that lone victory coming over Leonard Garcia at UFC 136. These two fighters never shy away from an exciting fight, but it will be Cole Miller getting the win in the end.
