UFC 150: HENDERSON VS. EDGAR II FX PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 8/9/2012 10:20 AM

While there was only a single fight on the Facebook portion of the card, there will be four fights to check out on FX. The headlining fight of this card will be featuring a UFC Ultimate Fighter finalist in Dennis Bermudez battling Tom Hayden. Also, Nik Lentz will be making his featherweight debut and Jared Hamman will be looking to get back in the winners seat.

Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Nik “The Carny” Lentz (21-5-0) competes against Eiji Mitsuoka (18-8-0). Nik Lentz will be dropping to the featherweight division in this fight after winning five of nine as a lightweight in the UFC. Eiji Mitsuoka is winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to Takanori Gomi back at UFC 144. The majority of this fight should be contested on the ground and it will be Nik Lentz making a successful featherweight debut.

We move to the bantamweight division for the next fight as Ken Stone (11-3-0) battles Erik “El Goyito” Perez (11-4-0). Ken Stone has won two of three in UFC competition, most notably defeating Donny Walker at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 25. Erik Perez is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated John Albert at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale. These are two good up and coming bantamweights in the UFC, but it will be Ken Stone picking up his third UFC victory.

Up next is a middleweight division fight as Jared “The Messenger” Hamman (13-4-0) takes on Michael “Judo” Kuiper (11-1-0). Jared Hamman has rotated wins and losses throughout his UFC career, last suffering a defeat to Constantinos Phillipou at UFC 140. Michael Kuiper is currently winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to Rafael Natal at UFC 143. This is a fight between two competitors in need of a victory, but it will be Jared Hamman getting that victory.

Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Dennis “The Menace” Bermudez (8-3-0) faces Tommy “Wild Card” Hayden (8-1-0). Dennis Bermudez has split both of his UFC appearances, defeating Pablo Garza and suffering a defeat to Diego Brandao. Tommy Hayden is currently winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to Fabricio Camoes at UFC On FX II. This fight should easily be the best of the FX fights, but it will be Dennis Bermudez adding another loss to Tommy Hayden’s record.
