UFC 152: JONES VS. BELFORT FACEBOOK CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 9/19/2012 12:30 PM

After what seems like a long layoff by UFC standards, we finally get some UFC action on Saturday Night with two title fights. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones defends the gold, while Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson battle for flyweight gold. There are three fights airing live on Facebook, including a big fight that is happening in the welterweight division.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division fight as Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman (15-4-0) battles Kyle “KO” Noke (19-6-0). Charlie Brenneman has won one of his last three in the UFC, with that lone victory coming over Daniel Roberts. Kyle Noke will be making his welterweight debut in this fight after winning three of five as a middleweight. The majority of this fight should be contested on the ground and that is where Charlie Brenneman picks up the decision victory.

Up next is a bantamweight division fight as Mitch Gagnon (8-2-0) takes on Walel “The Gazelle” Watson (9-4-0). Mitch Gagnon is currently winless in UFC competition, having dropped a fight to Bryan Caraway at UFC 149. Walel Watson enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those two losses coming to Yves Jabouin and TJ Dillashaw. This is a must win fight for both competitors, but it will be Walel Watson getting the much needed victory here.

Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division fight as Seth “The Polish Pistola” Baczynski (17-8-0) faces Simeon “The Grin” Thoresen (17-2-0). Seth Baczynski is currently undefeated in his second UFC run, most notably defeating Matt Brown at UFC 139. Simeon Thoresen is undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Besam Yousef at UFC On Fuel TV II. Both of these fighters are on impressive runs right now, but it will be Seth Baczynski keeping his streak alive in the end.
