This weekend will feature four separate MMA events from four different companies and it all begins with the Xtreme Fighting Championships. The XFC televised card, which airs live on AXS TV, features seven highly anticipated battles featuring top XFC talent. The same can be said for the preliminary card, which features twelve fighters looking to make an impact.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Chonci Houston (0-0-0) competes against Tyler Hunley (0-0-0). Chonci Houston will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but did win three of four as an amateur. Tyler Hunley will also be making his professional MMA debut, but did go undefeated as an amateur fighter. Tyler Hunley was the better amateur competitor of the two and that will carry over to the pro ranks as he picks up the victory.
Light heavyweights will enter the cage next as Jake Fine (0-0-0) is in action against Steve “The Dentist†Thomas (6-4-1). Jake Fine will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he was undefeated as an amateur. Steve Thomas enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Sam Brown and Dylan Andrews. This is quite the task for the debuting Jake Fine, but it will be too hard of one to complete as Steve Thomas ends his losing streak.
We move to the featherweight division for the next contest as Adam Hyde (0-0-0) does battle with David Miles (0-1-0). Adam Hyde will be making his professional MMA debut on Friday Night, but he does so after going winless as an amateur. David Miles returns to action after a fourteen year layoff as his last fight happened back in May of 2008. The extra-long layoff is going to affect David Miles in this one as Adam Hyde makes a successful pro debut.
A pair of lightweights will be up next as “Evil†Ian Boxhorn (1-0-0) steps into the cage with Chad Perrine (0-2-0). Ian Boxhorn returns to MMA competition after an eleven year layoff, with his lone fight being a victory over Joel Weldon. Chad Perrine is currently winless as a professional, with those losses coming to both Clint Toler and Drew Kennedy. This is one of the more odd fights to come around in a long while, but it will be Chad Perrine getting his first MMA victory.
Up next is a welterweight division fight as Craig Johnson (0-0-0) will be getting cage time against Zachary Odom (1-3-0). Craig Johnson will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did win all six of his amateur fights. Zachary Odom has split his last two fights and thus far, none of his four professional fights have gone past the second round. Craig Johnson has all the momentum heading into this fight and he will be riding that momentum on route to a victory.
Headlining this portion of the card is a flyweight division fight as Cory Alexander (3-5-0) faces D’Angelo Bynum (0-0-0). Cory Alexander enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Dustin Ortiz and Jeremy Wallace. D’Angelo Bynum will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did win all of his fights as an amateur. Cory Alexander has a decent experience advantage over D’Angelo Bynum, but D’Angelo Bynum will overcome that to get the win.
