Usually CES MMA is a promotion that flies under the national radar, but they get some attention this weekend due to the professional MMA debut on former WWE Champion Dave Bautista. The folks at CES MMA did a heck of a job loading the undercard with well-known MMA talent, with experience in the UFC and other promotions. The first part of this two part card preview features several undefeated fighters and other MMA talent looking to make an impact.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Andre Soukhamthath (2-1-0) is in action against Rob Costa (2-0-0). Andre Soukhamthath is currently undefeated in CES MMA competition, defeating Gilvan Santos and Vinny Tisconie. Rob Costa returns to action after a near year layoff, with his last victory coming over Gilvan Santos in November 2011. These are two good up and coming fighters, but it will be Rob Costa keeping his undefeated streak alive in the end.
We move to the welterweight division for the next fight as Nate “The Snake†Andrews (1-0-0) competes against Leon “Dynamite†Davis (2-0-0). Nate Andrews made his professional MMA debut this past Summer, defeating Pedro Da Silva by submission. Leon Davis has spent his entire career in the CES MMA promotion, defeating both Zachary Costello and Jay Bakanowski. Both of the fighters in this competition started off their careers on the right foot, but it will be Leon Davis keeping his undefeated streak going.
Middleweights will step into the cage next as Brennan Ward(3-0-0) does battle with Shedrick “Chocolate Thunder†Goodridge (2-2-0). Brennan Ward is an undefeated fighter who has finished two of his three fights within the opening round. Shedrick Goodridge recently saw his two fight winning streak snapped this past June when he suffered a defeat to Rex Harris. Brennan Ward is an undefeated fighter for a reason and he will continue to show why with a victory on Saturday Night.
A pair of heavyweights will be featured next as Josh Diekmann (12-4-0) stands across the cage from Tyler King (4-1-0). Josh Diekmann is coming off of a loss, but has fought UFC veterans Rob Broughton, Justin Eilers and Kevin Jordan. Tyler King is currently undefeated in CES MMA competition, having defeated Eric Bedard at CES MMA: Extreme Measures. Each of the competitors are known for finishing fights, but it will be Josh Diekmann getting the finish in this one.
Up next is a light heavyweight division fight as Greg Rebello (13-4-0) is in action against Chris Guillen (13-12-0). Greg Rebello has only won one of his last three heading into this fight and has competed in the Bellator Fighting Championships. Chris Guillen enters the fight riding a five fight losing streak, plus he has not competed in nearly four years. The long layoff is going to hurt Chris Guillen in this one as Greg Rebello pulls out the much needed victory.
The last fight being previewed in this column comes from the middleweight division as Todd “The Hulk†Chattelle (10-7-0) battles Chandler Holderness (9-3-0). Todd Chattelle enters the fight having won four of his last five, with that loss coming to UFC veteran John Howard. Chandler Holderness is currently undefeated in CES MMA competition and has fought UFC veteran Ricardo Funch. These are two middleweight fighters on the rise, but it will only be Todd Chattelle getting the duke.
