The UFC is returning to the country of Brazil this coming Saturday Night with the current UFC Middleweight Champion headlining. Before we head to the six fight pay-per-view card, there are four fights airing live on the FX preliminary card. The four fights airing on FX feature a pair of UFC Ultimate Fighter champions and a top lightweight competitor.
Kicking off the action is a middleweight division fight as Renee Forte (7-1-0) does battle with Sergio “Serginho†Moraes (6-2-0). Renee Forte will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has not competed in well over a year. Sergio Moraes is currently winless in UFC competition, having lost to Cezar Ferreira by unanimous decision at UFC 147. These are two fighters who are well versed in the ground game, but it will be Renee Forte making a successful UFC debut.
Featherweights will be hitting the cage next as Diego “Ceara†Brandao (14-8-0) takes on Joey “The Raging Warrior†Gambino (9-1-0). Diego Brandao was the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 14, but is coming off of a loss to Darren Elkins. Joey Gambino is currently winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to Steven Siler at UFC On FX IV. Diego Brandao needs to pull out the big victory on Saturday Night and he will be doing just that on FX.
Up next is a lightweight division fight as Gleison Tibau (25-8-0) battles Francisco Massaranduba†Trinaldo (11-1-0). Gleison Tibau has won three of his last four in UFC competition, most notably defeating Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 139. Francisco Trinaldo is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Delson Heleno at UFC 147. Francisco Trinaldo may be undefeated in the UFC, but that streak will be coming to an end at the hands of Gleison Tibau.
Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Rony “Jason†Bezerra (11-3-0) faces Sam Sicilia (11-1-0). Rony Bezerra is the winner of the first ever UFC Ultimate Fighter Brazil, defeating Godofredo Castro in the finals. Sam Sicilia is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Cristiano Marcello at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale. These are two fighters who started their UFC careers on the right foot, but it will be Rony Bezerra keeping his undefeated streak going.
