It took only six events for the highly touted Score Fighting Series to get a national TV deal and the deal came with AXS TV. The promotion will kick off their big debut with a headliner featuring WEC/Bellator veteran Chris Horodecki. The card will also feature a UFC veteran stepping in the cage and a host of top notch MMA veterans in action.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division fight as Jesse “The Ghost†Gross (6-3-0) is in action against Seiji Sugiman-Marangos (5-1-0). Jesse Gross enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Daron Cruickshank. Seiji Sugiman-Marangos enters the fight riding a four fight winning streak and has not suffered a defeat in three years. These are two fighters on very different runs right now and it will be Seiji Sugimon-Marangos keeping his winning streak alive.
A pair of welterweights will compete next as Sergej Juskevic (11-7-0) competes against Gerald “The Machine†Meerschaert (15-5-0). Segej Juskevic has won four of his last five, which included a submission victory over UFC veteran Gideon Ray. Gerald Meerschaert enters the fight having won eight of his last nine, with that lone loss coming to Bellator veteran Herbert Goodman. These are two fighters on quite the roll right now and it will be Gerald Meerschaert keeping his roll going.
Lightweight fighters will be featured next as Jorge Britto (12-8-0) does battle with Tony “Lionheart†Hervey (14-12-0). Jorge Britto enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Jason Young. Tony Hervey recently ended a two fight losing streak this past June, defeating Buddy Clinton at a King Of The Cage event. Both of these fighters are well-traveled MMA veterans, but it will be Jorge Britto pulling out the victory.
Featherweight fighters are battling next as Lyndon Whitlock (7-2-0) takes on Rick “The Gladiator†Glenn (11-2-0). Lyndon Whitlock has split both of his Score Fighting series events, defeating Cory Houston and suffering a defeat to Tristan Johnson. Rick Glenn enters the fight riding an eight fight winning streak and he has not suffered a defeat in over two years. Rick Glenn enters the fight riding an amazing winning streak and that streak will continue on Friday Night.
Up next is a bantamweight division fight as John “Haggis Basher†Fraser (10-4-0) battles Tyler “Thunder†Toner (13-4-0). John Fraser has won seven of his last eight fights, but is coming off of a loss to Josh Hill at Score Fighting series V. Tyler Toner has won two of three since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Ian Loveland at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale. This is easily the biggest fight of John Fraser’s career and he will capitalize on the opportunity with a victory.
Headlining this card is a featherweight division as Brad “The Bonesaw†Cardinal (16-8-0) faces “The Polish Experiment†Chris Horodecki (18-4-0). Brad Cardinal enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, but does come into the fight as a late replacement. Chris Horodecki competes for the first time since getting released from Bellator, which came after a loss to Mike Richman at Bellator 64. This will be a successful homecoming for Chris Horodecki as he pulls out the victory in the main event on Friday Night.
