This weekend will kick off with Bellator action, but it will be ending with the highly anticipated debut of the World Series Of Fighting. The main card will feature everyone from a former UFC Heavyweight Champion to a kickboxing champion making his pro MMA debut. The preliminary card is also pretty stacked as well, including a battle of former UFC veterans and plenty more.
Kicking off the action is a welterweight division fight as Ramico “The General†Blackmon (8-1-0) does battle with Steve Carl (18-3-0). Ramico Blackmon enters the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, which includes a victory over UFC Ultimate Fighter alumni Dakota Cochrane. Steve Carl has won four of his last five entering this fight, which includes a victory over Strikeforce veteran Tyler Stinson. These are two fighters who deserve a higher position on this card, but it will be Steve Carl getting the victory.
Featherweights will step into the cage next as Waylon Lowe (13-4-0) competes against Fabio Mello (11-6-0). Waylon Lowe has been undefeated since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Nik Lentz at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 24. Fabio Mello enters the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, which includes a victory over longtime MMA veteran Charles Bennett. These are two fighters on very impressive streaks right now, but it will be Waylon Lowe keeping his streak alive.
A pair of middleweights are set for battle next as David Branch (10-3-0) is in action against Dustin Jacoby (8-2-0). David Branch has won two of three since getting released by the UFC, but he is coming off of a loss to UFC veteran Anthony Johnson. Dustin Jacoby has been undefeated since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Chris Camozzi at UFC On Fox II. These are two fighters who are a few wins away from a return to the big show and it will be Dustin Jacoby picking up the big win.
We move to the lightweight division for the next fight as Gesias “JZ†Cavalcante (16-6-1) battles TJ “The Spider†O’Brien (18-5-0). Gesias Cavalcante enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Isaac Vallie-Flagg and Luis Palomino. TJ O’Brien has been undefeated since his UFC release, with both victories coming in the Midwest Cage Championships promotion. Gesias Cavalcante’s best days are now behind him and TJ O’Brien will show why with a victory on Saturday Night.
Up next is a welterweight division fight as “The People’s Warrior†Josh Burkman (23-9-0) faces Gerald “Hurricane†Harris (21-4-0). Josh Burkman enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which includes a victory over UFC veteran Jamie Yager. Gerald Harris enters the fight riding a four fight winning streak, which includes a DREAM 11 victory over Kazuhiro Nakamura. The winner of this fight may get himself another shot in the UFC and that fighter will be Gerald Harris.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division fight as Brian “The Bandit†Cobb (19-7-0) takes on Ronys Torres (25-4-0). Brian Cobb will be looking to rebound from a defeat to UFC veteran Antonio McKee, the loss happened at Maximum Fighting Championships 32. Ronys Torres enters the fight riding an eleven fight winning streak, which includes a victory over UFC veteran Drew Fickett. This fight should easily be the most exciting of the preliminary card, but it will be Ronys Torres keeping his incredible winning streak going.
