UFC ON FUEL TV VI FACEBOOK PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 11/8/2012 10:03 AM

This weekend will be marking a historical moment for the UFC as the promotion is making its debut in Macau, China. The promotion does so with a main event worthy of any pay-per-view card as Rich Franklin faces Cung Le. However, there are four fights airing on Facebook first, with a key fight taking place in the middleweight division.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division fight as David “Daudi” Mitchell (11-2-0) does battle with Hyun Gyu “The Ace” Lim (10-3-0). David Mitchell enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to TJ Waldburger and Paulo Thiago. Hyun Gyu Lim enters the fight riding a five fight winning streak, with most of those victories coming in the Pacific Xtreme Combat promotion. This fight is a must win fight for David Mitchell, but he will not get that victory as Hyun Gyu Lim pulls out the victory.

We move to the middleweight division for our next fight as Tom DeBlass (7-1-0) takes on Riki Fukuda (18-6-0). Tom DeBlass is currently winless in UFC competition, having dropped a fight to Cyrille Diabate at UFC On Fuel TV II. Riki Fukuda has only won one of three in UFC competition, with that lone victory coming over Steve Cantwell. This is a battle between two fighters looking to remain relevant in the UFC and it will be Riki Fukuda being the relevant fighter in the end.

Up next is a flyweight division fight as John “Hands Of Stone” Lineker (19-6-0) battles Yasuhiro Urushitani (19-5-0). John Lineker is currently winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to Louis Gaudinot at UFC On Fox III. Yasuhiro Urishitani competed in the first ever UFC Flyweight Title Tournament, losing to Joseph Benavidez in the opening round. The flyweight division roster in thin on talent right now and a victory here could propel someone into contention and it will be Yasuhiro Urushitani getting back into contention.

Headlining this portion of the card is a bantamweight division fight as Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres (7-5-0) faces Motonobu Tezuka (19-4-0). Alex Caceres has won two of his last three entering this fight, most notably defeating Damacio Page at UFC On Fuel TV IV. Motonobu Tezuka is a late replacement in this fight, but he does enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak. This fight is easily the biggest test of Alex Caceres’s career, but it will be a test that the fighter fails as Motonobu Yezuka takes the win.
