We are only a few short days away from the return of UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre to the octagon. The UFC loaded up not only the pay-per-view and Facebook preliminary card, but the four fight FX Preliminary Card as well. The fights airing on FX features a strikers duel, Chad Griggs light heavyweight debut and two key lightweight fights.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division fight as Mark Bocek (11-4-0) competes against Rafael Dos Anjos (17-6-0). Mark Bocek enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, most notably defeating Nik Lentz at UFC 140. Rafael Dos Anjos also enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, with his victories coming over Anthony Njokuani and Kamal Shalorus. Both fighters do an excellent job once the fight is on the ground, but Rafael Dos Anjos is better when it is down there and he will get the victory.
Another lightweight division fight is up next as John “The Bull†Makdessi (9-2-0) battles Sam “Hands Of Stone†Stout (18-7-0). John Makdessi enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has not achieved a victory in over a year. Sam Stout has won three of his four fights in the UFC, with that lone loss coming to lightweight Thiago Tavares. These are two of the better strikers in the lightweight division, but it will be Sam Stout pulling out another victory.
Up next is a light heavyweight division fight as Cyrille “The Snake†Diabate (18-8-0) faces “The Grave Digger†Chad Griggs (11-2-0). Cyrille Diabate has rotated wins and losses throughout his UFC career, with his last fight being a victory over Tom DeBlass. Chad Griggs is currently winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to Travis Browne at UFC 145. This fight will determine if Chad Griggs can survive in the UFC and he will with a big victory on Saturday Night.
Headlining this card is a middleweight division fight as Patrick “The Predator†Cote (17-8-0) takes on Alessio “Legionarius†Sakara (15-9-0). Patrick Cote is currently winless in his second UFC run, suffering a defeat to Cung Le by decision at UFC 148. Alessio Sakara enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with his defeats coming to Chris Weidman and Brian Stann. These are two fighters in desperate need of a victory and it will be Patrick Cote getting the victory in the end.
