There is no UFC, Strikeforce or Bellator this weekend, but there is a helping of Score Fighting Series VII to feast on this weekend. The main card, which airs live on AXS TV, will be headlined by UFC veteran Forrest Petz and Strikeforce veteran Jordan Mein. The un-aired preliminary card will also feature a lot of fighters looking to make an impact on the MMA scene.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Ahmad Kakar (0-0-0) competes against Tommy McAvoy (0-0-0). Ahmad Kakar will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did compete many times as an amateur. Tommy McAvoy will also be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did go undefeated as an amateur. It is always hard to make a prediction when both fighters are making their debuts, but I will go with Tommy McAvoy in this one.
Featherweights will step into the cage next as Paul Jalbert (0-0-0) does battle with Oliver Vadnais (1-0-0). Paul Jalbert will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did win all of his fights as an amateur. Oliver Vadnais is currently undefeated as a professional, having defeated Ronnie Phillips at a Discipline MMA event. Paul Jalbert looked dominant in his amateur fights and he will bring that over as a pro by winning his professional MMA debut.
A lightweight division fight is up next as Adam “The Maverick†Assenza (2-1-0) battles Tommy Cote (3-3-0). Adam Assenza enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak and has fought all of his professional MMA fights in the Score Fighting Series. Tommy Cote recently ended a three fight losing streak at Ultimate Generation Combat, defeating Pablo Santos. Tommy Cote has been very inconsistent as of late and that will cost him as Adam Assenza picks up the victory.
Up next is a lightweight division fight as Desmond Green (4-0-0) stands across the cage from Rory McDonell (5-6-0). Desmond Green is currently undefeated as a professional, with all four of his career fights going to a decision. Rory McDonell enters the fight riding a two fight losing streak and has not achieved a victory in well over two years. Rory McDonell is clearly on the downside of his career and Desmond Green will remain undefeated in the end.
Headlining this portion of the card is a light heavyweight division fight as Ali “The Monster†Mokdad (6-2-0) faces Elias “The Spartan†Theodorou (5-0-0). Ali Mokdad recently competed at the Bellator Fighting Championships, defeating Simon Marini by decision. Elias Theodorou has also competed in the Bellator Fighting Championships, having defeated Rich Lictawa by TKO. This is a fight that should have been on the main card, either way it is going to be Elias Theodorou getting the win.
