SCORE FIGHTING SERIES VII AXS TV MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 11/22/2012 9:49 PM

The Score Fighting Series will be returning to AXS TV this coming Friday Night with its sophomore effort on the network. The promotion puts its best foot forward with a card featuring UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator veterans. The headlining fight on this card will pit UFC veteran Forrest Petz against Strikeforce veteran Jordan Mein.

Kicking off the card is a welterweight division fight as Brandt Dewsbery (10-1-0) competes against Ryan Dickson (4-0-0). Brandt Dewsbery enters the fight riding a five fight winning streak, which includes three victories in the Rage In The Cage promotion. Ryan Dickson is an undefeated fighter who has finished three of four opponents in the opening round. These are two fighters who will have bright futures in MMA, but it will be Brandt Dewsbery ending his foes undefeated streak.

Lightweights will step into the cage next as Iraj “Cold Blooded” Hadin (6-4-0) does battle with Jason Saggo (7-1-0). Iraj Hadin has won two of his last three fights, plus he has competed against UFC veterans John Makdessi and Sean Pierson. Jason Saggo enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, including a victory at the Score Fighting Series V event. Jason Saggo is a lightweight fighter to keep your eye on and he will show why with a victory on Friday Night.

Another welterweight division fight is upcoming as Kevin Morin (6-4-0) is in action against Alex Ricci (5-1-0). Kevin Morin has won four of his last five fights and has spent the majority of his career in the Ringside MMA promotion. Alex Ricci will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Jesse Ronson at Score Fighting Series V. How a fighter rebounds from his first defeat tells a lot about them and Alex Ricci will respond well to earn a win.

A pair of featherweights will collide next as Tristan Johnson (7-3-0) stands across the cage from Will “Leon” Romero (9-3-0). Tristan Johnson has won two of his last three fights, which includes a victory over Will Romero in their initial battle. Will Romero enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak, which includes a Bellator 67 victory over Matt Veal. It will be interesting to see how these fighters have changed since the first fight, but it will be Will Romero evening up the score.

Up next is a welterweight division fight as Ryan “Diamond” Healy (23-11-0) takes on Jesse “The Body Snatcher” Ronson (11-2-0). Ryan Healy has won three of his last four fights, which includes a victory over UFC veteran Paul Kelly at Super Fight League II. Jesse Ronson enters the fight riding a six fight winning streak and he has not suffered a defeat in well over a year. Ryan Healy is on the verge of getting a shot in a bigger promotion and he will cement his case with a victory.

Headlining this card is a welterweight division fight as Jordan “Young Gun” Mein (25-8-0) faces Forrest “The Meat Cleaver” Petz (25-9-0). Jordan Mein is coming off of a three fight run in Strikeforce, where he fought the likes of Tyron Woodley and Evangelista Santos. Forrest Petz has been undefeated since his UFC release, which came after a defeat to Brian Foster at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 22. This is easily the biggest fight of Jordan Mein’s career and he will get the career making victory by defeating Forrest Petz.
