In between two big events from the Bellator Fighting Championships and the UFC is a top notch offering from the Xtreme Fighting Championships. Sadly, unlike both Bellator and the UFC, the four fight preliminary card will not be streamed anywhere. Either way, the preliminary card is definitely worth paying attention to, with several prospects stepping into the cage.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Solon Staley (0-0-0) competes against Carlos Vivas (1-0-0). Staley will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did win three of four as an amateur. Vivas made his professional MMA debut back at XFC 19, defeating Brian Karmolinski by TKO in the opening round. Vivas looked impressive in his professional MMA debut this past August and he will continue to look impressive with a victory on Friday Night.
Another featherweight division fight is happening next as Luke Neyland (0-0-0) does battle with Cody Wells (0-1-0). Neyland will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did with two of four fights as an amateur. Wells made his professional MMA debut in late 2011, dropping a fight to Colin Finger at Super Fight Australia 11. These are two fighters who are both coming off of long layoffs in the cage, but it will be Wells getting his first professional win.
Up next is another featherweight division encounter as Rahshun Ball (0-0-0) stands across the cage from Kurtis Cloward (4-4-0). Ball will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did win five of eleven as an amateur fighter. Cloward enters then fight riding a two fight winning streak and he did compete in five professional bouts in 2012. Cloward may not have the most impressive record, but his huge experience edge will gain him the victory over Ball.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division fight as Joseph Carroll (0-1-0) faces Len Cook (3-1-0). Carroll made his professional MMA debut almost three years ago, suffering a defeat to Robert Wilson at a Brass Knuckles Promotions event. Cook is currently winless in XFC competition, suffering a defeat to Chris Wright via a unanimous decision at XFC 16. This was a bad fight for Carroll to take as Cook will steam roll past him to get his first victory in XFC competition.
