The upstart World Series Of Fighting promotion is returning to NBC Sports on Saturday Night with a sophomore effort that looks to be top notch. The events main card is filled with plenty of great fighters, including a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. The preliminary card is stacked as well, it will be featuring a member of the Gracie family in action and some UFC veterans as well.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Rick “The Gladiator†Glenn (12-2-1) competes against Alexandre “Pulga†Pimentel (12-0-0). Glenn enters the fight riding a nine fight winning streak, with two of those victories coming in the Score Fighting Series promotion. Pimentel is an undefeated fighter who has kept his undefeated streak alive for more than five years total. Pimentel is on the verge of becoming the next big star in the world of MMA and he will show why with a victory on Saturday Night.
Lightweights will be stepping into the cage next as Ozzy Dugulubgov (3-1-0) does battle with Chris Wade (5-0-0). Dugulubgov enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak and has spent his entire career in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships promotion. Wade is an undefeated fighter who has seen four of his five professional MMA fights go to the judge’s scorecard. This is a major opportunity for both fighters to be competing on a big stage, but it will be Wade remaining undefeated in the end.
Another featherweight division fight is up next as Cameron “Money Man†Dollar (11-4-0) battles Waylon Lowe (13-4-0). Dollar has won seven of nine since being released by the UFC, which came after a loss to Jason Dent at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale. Lowe has been undefeated since getting released by the UFC, which came after a submission loss to Nik Lentz at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 24. This will be an interesting battle of UFC veterans to keep an eye on, but it will be Lowe pulling out the victory.
Up next is a welterweight division contest as Igor Gracie (5-3-0) is in the cage against Richard Patishnock (4-1-0). Gracie has won four of his last five bouts, but is coming off of a loss to Jung Hwan Cha via TKO at One FC V. Patishnock will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Tenyeh Dixon at a Xtreme Caged Combat event. The first Gracie to compete at a WSOF event did not fare so well, but the fortunes will change this time around as Gracie gets the win.
Headlining this portion of the card is a middleweight division fight as Kris “Savage†McCray (8-4-0) faces Danillo “Indio†VIllefort (13-4-0). McCray has won three of four fights since his UFC release, which came after a loss to John Hathaway at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 24. Villefort is coming off of a one fight run in Strikeforce, where he suffered a defeat to Nate James at Strikeforce Challengers 18. Villefort is considered to be a future UFC competitor and he will get back on track by defeating the UFC veteran.
