This weekend will end with the crowning of a new TUF Champion on Saturday Night, but it begins with a great card from Legacy Fighting Championships on Friday. The card will be headlined by a flyweight title bout as champion Will Campuzano defends against Alan Nascimento. Also, a UFC veteran will battle a Bellator veteran and a former Cage Warriors champ faces an undefeated top prospect.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Hunter Tucker (5-0-0) does battle against Kevin “The Angel Of Death†Aguilar (7-0-0). Tucker is coming off of an appearance at the Bellator Fighting Championships, where he defeated Javier Obregon by submission. Aguilar is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated Nick Gonzales at Legacy FC 17. These are two fighters known for finishing fights, but it will be Aguilar remaining undefeated when it’s all said and done.
More featherweight action will be happening next as Chris “Lionheart†Jones (8-1-0) competes against Reynaldo “The Truth†Trujillo (13-10-0). Jones will enter the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, with four of those wins coming in the Xtreme Knockout promotion. Trujillo has only won one of his last three fights, with that lone victory coming over James King at Legacy FC 17. Jones has a huge upside to his MMA career right now and he will show why with a victory over Trujillo.
Another featherweight battle is taking place next as George Pacurariu (4-1-0) is in action against Steven “Ocho†Peterson (8-3-0). Pacurariu enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak and has only had one career fight go to a decision. Peterson has won three of four in Legacy FC competition, most notably defeating Matt Hobar at Legacy FC 13. Peterson is essentially the most hated fighter in Legacy FC after the first Hobar fight at Legacy FC 13 and he will continue to be hated as he gets the win on Friday Night.
A bantamweight division fight is up next as Matt “The Crowbar†Hobar (6-1-0) stands across the cage from Nelson Salas (4-0-0). Hobar has split both of his fights in Legacy FC competition, both defeating and losing to Steven Peterson. Salas is currently undefeated in his professional MMA career and has yet to have a fight go to the judge’s scorecards. These are two exciting bantamweight fighters to keep an eye on, but it will be Hobar ending his opponent’s undefeated streak.
Light heavyweights are up next as Robert Drysdale (5-0-0) takes on DJ “The Protégé†Linderman (13-4-0). Drysdale is undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, with two victories in Legacy FC over Isaac Villanueva and Chris Reed. Linderman is a former Cage Warriors Heavyweight Champion and he is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition. This is easily the biggest test in the professional career of Drysdale, but he will past the test and get the biggest victory of his career.
Up next is a featherweight division bout as “Insane†Georgi Karakhanyan (20-3-1) faces Din “Dinyero†Thomas (25-8-0-1NC). Karakhanyan enters the fight riding a six fight winning streak, most notably defeating Hiroyuki Takaya at DREAM 18. Thomas has been undefeated since his release from the UFC, which came after a defeat to Josh Neer at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 13. Karakhanyan not competing in the UFC right now is criminal and he will end the UFC veterans winning streak on Friday Night.
Headlining this card is a Legacy FC Flyweight Title bout as champion Will Campuzano (11-4-0) defends against Allan “Lobo†Nascimento (7-0-0). Campuzano will be defending the championship for the first time, he won the belt by defeating Jimmy Flick at Legacy FC 16. Nascimento is an undefeated fighter who has yet to see any of his seven pro bouts go to the scorecards. These are two of the better flyweights not in the UFC at the moment, but it will be Campuzano ending his foe’s undefeated streak and holding onto the belt.
