This coming Saturday Night will feature the crowning of the newest TUF Champion as the seventeenth season comes to a close. Also, instead of getting a bantamweight title bout as originally planned, we will get Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen in the main event. The preliminary card for this event is loaded as well, including a bunch of fights in the featherweight division.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Maximo “Maxi†Blanco (8-4-1-1NC) faces Sam Sicilia (11-2-0). Blanco will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has not earned a victory in over two years. Sicilia has split both of his fights in the UFC, defeating Cristiano Marcello and suffering a defeat to Rony Bezerra. Blanco has not been all that impressive in recent years and Sicilia will show how much better he is with a victory on Saturday Night.
Up next is a featherweight division fight as Justin “The American Kid†Lawrence (4-1-0) battles Daniel “The Pit†Pineda (17-9-0). Lawrence will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Max Holloway at UFC 150. Pineda will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Mike Brown and Antonio Carvalho. Pineda has a huge experience edge over Lawrence and he will use that advantage to get back in the winner’s circle.
Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Cole “Magrinho†Miller (18-7-0) takes on Bart “Bartimus†Palaszewski (36-16-0). Miller will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, last losing to Nam Phan via decision at UFC On Fox IV. Palaszewski will also enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with his losses coming to Hatsu Hioki and Diego Nunes. This is a must win fight for both competitors, but it will be Miller keeping his job with a victory this weekend.
