UFC ULTIMATE FIGHTER 17 FINALE FUEL TV PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 4/11/2013 8:59 PM

The UFC has become synonymous with the mainstream world following the success of the original UFC Ultimate Fighter many years ago. This season’s event will be headlined by a potential title eliminator between Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen. The Fuel TV portion of the preliminary card will feature eight members of the TUF 17 cast who are looking for a shot in the UFC.

Kicking off the action is a middleweight division fight as Clint Hester (7-3-0) competes against Bristol Marunde (12-7-0). Hester enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak and he has not suffered a defeat in nearly two years. Marunde has won four of his last five fights, which includes victories over UFC veterans Shane Primm and Jay Silva. Marunde has faced far better competition that his opponent and that experience will gain him the victory on Saturday Night.

More middleweight action is happening next as Dylan “The Villain” Andrews (15-4-0-1NC) battles Jimmy “Crash” Quinlan (3-0-0). Andrews will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak, with two victories coming in the Nitro MMA promotion. Quinlan is currently undefeated in his professional MMA career, with two of three victories coming in the first round. Andrews has a massive experience edge over his opponent and that will carry him to end Quinlan’s undefeated streak.

Up next is a middleweight division fight as Luke “Bigslow” Barnatt (5-0-0) does battle against Collin Hart (4-1-1). Barnatt is an undefeated competitor has only seen one of his five professional MMA bouts go to a decision. Hart will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and he has competed in the highly touted Tachi Palace Fights promotion. These are two fighters who have started off their careers on the right path, but it will be Barnatt staying undefeated in the end.

Headlining this portion of the card is a middleweight division fight as “King” Kevin Casey (5-2-0) faces Josh Samman (9-2-0). Casey will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and once competed against UFC veteran Matt Lindland. Samman has won six of his last seven fights, which includes a victory over UFC veteran Chris Cope at a Moon Management MMA event. Casey has a lot more big fight experience when compared to Samman, which is why Casey will get the victory.
