The UFC is returning to the Fox Network this coming Saturday Night with the UFC Lightweight Title on the line. Despite taking a hit on the card with the loss of a bout between Joe Proctor and Al Iaquinta, the preliminary card will still move on. The Facebook portion of the preliminary card is a little thin with two fights, but it will mark the debut of a top Strikeforce prospect.
Kicking off the action is a middleweight division fight as Clifford Starks (8-1-0) takes on Yoel Romero (4-1-0). Starks has split both of his fights in the UFC, defeating Dustin Jacoby and suffering a defeat to Ed Herman. Romero will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he did compete once in Strikeforce, losing to Rafael Cavalcante. This is a must win scenario for both competitors in this fight, but it will be Starks winning his second in the UFC.
Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division fight as “Relentless†Roger Bowling (11-3-0) faces Anthony “The Assassin†Njokuani (15-7-0-1NC). Bowling will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he did win four of seven in the Strikeforce promotion. Njokuani has rotated wins and losses throughout his UFC career, with his last fight being a loss to Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC On Fuel TV IV. This should be one of the best striking duels on the card, but it will be Bowling making a successful debut in the UFC.
