This coming weekend will see the rivalry between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen come to a conclusion. There are also plenty of other great fights taking place, including three that are happening on the Facebook portion of the preliminary card. Speaking of the Facebook portion of the preliminary card, there is a key featherweight division fight that will be taking place.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Kurt Holobaugh (9-1-0) takes on “Super†Steven Siler (21-10-0). Holobaugh will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he did compete once in Strikeforce in a losing effort to Pat Healy. Siler has won three of four in UFC competition, most notably defeating Cole Miller by decision at UFC On FX II. Siler slipped up in his last fight against Darren Elkins, but he will rebound to spoil the UFC debut of Holobaugh.
Up next is a welterweight division fight as “The Jersey Devil†Nick Catone (9-4-0) battles James Head (9-3-0). Catone will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and is currently winless as a welterweight in the UFC. Head has won two of four in UFC competition, but his last fight was a TKO loss to Mike Pyle at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale. These are two fighters who are battling to avoid the pink slip, but it will be Head picking up the much needed victory.
Headlining the card is a featherweight division fight as Leonard “Bad Boy†Garcia (15-10-1) faces Cody “AK Kid†McKenzie (13-3-0). Garcia will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he has not earned a victory in nearly three years. McKenzie has only won one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone victory coming over Marcus LeVesseur. This is another must win scenarios for both of these competitors, but it will be McKenzie sending Garcia out of the UFC.
