MAXIMUM FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 37 FACEBOOK PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 5/8/2013 10:42 AM

While there are again no big events from the big three MMA promotions (UFC, Bellator, WSOF), that leaves room for the Maximum Fighting Championships to take center stage. The promotion recently underwent a little controversy after their planned heavyweight title bout was cancelled after Chris Barnett failed an eye exam. However, the show must go on and it will with six fighters on the preliminary card, including a WEC veteran and a rare brother versus brother bout.

Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division contest as Thomas Treadwell (0-0-0) battles Mike Treadwell (0-0-0). Thomas will be making his professional MMA debut and he did not compete at all in the amateur ranks. Mike will also be making his professional MMA debut in this fight and he is the older of the two siblings in this contest. This is a very rare brother versus brother match up in MMA, but it will be the older Mike Treadwell getting the victory.

Up next is a featherweight division contest as Maged Hammo (4-2-0) is in action against Allan Munroe (5-4-0). Hammo has won two of his last three professional MMA bouts, with all of those victories coming in the opening round. Munroe already holds a victory over Hammo, which came by way of unanimous decision at Rumble In The Cage 44. Munroe has remained the better fighter following the first encounter a few years back and he will also get the win the second time around.

Headlining this portion of the card is a middleweight division fight as Marcus “The Loudmouth Assassin” Hicks (14-21-0) faces Jared McComb (4-2-1). Hicks enters the fight riding a three fight winning streak, plus he has fought UFC veterans Krzystof Soszynski, Cyrille Diabate and Kalib Starnes. McComb is coming off of a two fight run against Derek Parker, where he fought the fighter to a draw and also suffered a defeat against him. Hicks has turned around his career a little bit in his last few fights and he will continue that trend by winning his fourth straight.
