While the bigger MMA promotions are not running any events for the second straight weekend, that does not mean that Cage Warriors will stand idly by. The Cage Warriors promotion, for the second straight week, is running an event worth checking out. While the main card will feature a Youtube star, the preliminary card is featuring several up and coming fighters looking to make an impact.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division fight as Sean “Sexy Curls†Carter (4-0-0) faces Matt “Short Fuze†Hughes (3-0-0). Carter is an undefeated fighter who has only seen one of his four professional fights go to the judge’s scorecard. Hughes may have the same name of the former UFC Welterweight Champion, but this Hughes has competed twice in the Shock N’ Awe promotion. These are two fighters who are worthy of a spot on the main card, but it will be Carter remaining undefeated either way.
Up next is a light heavyweight division fight as Mohamed “Felx†Ali (6-4-0) takes on Sylvain Potard (4-2-0). Ali has only won one of three under the Cage Warriors banner, with that lone victory coming over Doo Hwan Kim. Potard will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and has spent the majority of his career in the 100% Fight promotion. Potard has been looking dominant in his last few fights and he will keep that winning streak alive as he defeats Ali.
Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division fight as Mauro “Xuxa†Chimento Jr. (14-10-0) faces Domingos “Cookie†Mestre (10-4-0). Chimento Jr. has only won one of his last four, but he did compete against UFC veterans Ben Alloway, Luis Ramos and Fabricio Camoes. Mestre is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, having defeated John Donnelly at Cage Warriors Fight Night III. Chimento Jr. may have fought better competition, but it will be Mestre getting the biggest victory of his career this time around.
