CAGE WARRIORS FIGHT NIGHT VIII MMAJUNKIE.COM MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 5/10/2013 2:16 PM

If there is one thing that Cage Warriors and the UFC have in common, it is that they both like to run a lot of shows, as this is the second Cage Warriors event in two weeks. This event, which is part of their “fight night” series will feature veteran Jack Mason headlining against Youtube sensation Collin Reuter. The card, beyond the main event, is filled with some of the best international fighters on the scene right now.

Kicking off the action is a middleweight division fight as Gregor “Bulldozer” Herb (13-5-0) competes against Mike “Big Daddy” Ling (11-5-0). Herb will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, but this fight will mark his Cage Warriors debut. Ling has competed on four previous Cage Warriors Fight Night events, but has only achieved a single victory. Herb is on a pretty big roll heading into his Cage Warriors debut and he will be making a successful promotional debut.

A pair of featherweights will be competing next as Martin “Barracuda” Buschkamp (6-0-0-1NC) is in action against Matteus Lahdesmaki (12-8-3). Buschkamp is an undefeated fighter who has finished all six of his previous opponents in the opening round. Lahdesmaki has split both of his Cage Warriors appearances, defeating Graham Turner and suffering a defeat to Jim Alers. Lahdesmaki is the most experienced opponent Buschkamp has fought, but it will be Buschkamp getting the victory.

Bantamweights will be stepping into the cage next as James Brum (11-2-0) takes on Olivier “Wide Eyed” Pastor (17-13-0-1NC). Brum will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak, with four of those victories coming in the Cage Warriors promotion. Pastor has only won one of his last four bouts, with that lone victory coming over Timo-Juhani Hirvikangas. Pastor has seen a major career slide in the last few years and Brum is the complete opposite right now which is why he will get the win.

Up next is a middleweight division fight as Antoni “Antonio” Chmielewski (23-9-0) faces Faycal Hucin (8-3-0). Chmielewski has rotated wins and losses in his last five MMA bouts, with one of those bouts being a loss to UFC veteran Matt Horwich. Hucin has won two of three in Cage Warriors competition, with a notable victory over John Michael Sheil at Cage Warriors 49. This fight will be the show stealer of the entire card, but it will be Chmielewski getting the victory in his Cage Warriors debut.

Headlining this card is a welterweight division fight as Jack “The Stone” Mason (23-11-0) battles Collin Reuter (9-1-1). Mason will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, with two of those victories coming in Cage Warriors competition. Reuter will be making his Cage Warriors debut in this fight, but he is best known for the “Gumby KO” video on Youtube. Reuter may be a mild Youtube sensation, but Mason is one of the best unsigned UFC fighters at the moment and he will show why with a victory on Saturday Night.
