LEGACY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 20 PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 5/28/2013 10:09 AM

The Legacy Fighting Championships returns to action this Friday Night with a card featuring three UFC veterans in action. The preliminary card, which will sadly be un-aired in any format, is going to feature some top up and coming MMA competitors. Amongst those four fights on the preliminary card, is a pair of female fighters looking to make a big impact.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division contest as Jared Perez (0-0-0) competes against David Siller (0-0-0). Perez will be making his professional MMA debut in the fight, but he did win five of seven fights as an amateur. Siller will also be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did not compete at all as an amateur fighter. Despite amateur fights not really factoring much in a pro career, Perez is a more active competitor heading into his pro debut when compared to Siller and that will help get him the victory.

A women’s atomweight division fight is happening next as Paulina “Firefox” Granados (1-0-0) faces Maria Lopez (0-0-0). Granados made her professional MMA debut in March of this year, defeating Sarah Lagerstrom by decision. Lopez will be making her professional MMA debut in this fight and she did compete many times as an amateur. Granados looked impressive when she made her pro debut in March ’13 and she will still be undefeated when this one is complete.

Up next is a featherweight division fight as Gerald Gagon (0-0-0) takes on Kirk “Spartacus” Hubble (1-2-0). Gagon will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he does have experience competing as an amateur. Despite having a poor record as a professional fighter, Hubble has yet to see a fight go to the judge’s scorecard. Hubble has yet to really do anything that impressive in his professional MMA career, as it will be Gagon pulling the upset in his pro debut.

Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division fight as Corey Bellino (6-2-0) battles Marcelo Lumakang (2-8-0). Bellino recently saw a six fight winning streak snapped, but he did make his professional MMA debut against UFC veteran Darril Schoonover. Despite having the poorest record of anybody competing on this card, Lumakang has only seen one fight go to a decision. Outside of a monumental upset in Legacy FC, Bellino should easily defeat Lumakang in this contest.
