Another UFC veteran has joined the Bellator ranks as John Alessio has signed a multi-fight deal with the Bellator Fighting Championships. Alessio was released from his most recently UFC run after suffering a defeat to Shane Roller at UFC 148. Since that release, Alessio has only competed once, a no contest due to an eye poke from Dave Mazany at Aggression Fighting Championships 13. Alessio will make his promotional debut sometime in season nine, whether or not it will be in a tournament has yet to be decided.
