TITAN FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 25 AXS TV MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 6/5/2013 3:50 PM

After a very long hiatus, the Titan Fighting Championships returns to action on AXS TV with a former WWE/TNA wrestler in the main event. That former WWE/TNA wrestler in the main event is Bobby Lashley, as he returns to the cage to fight Kevin Asplund. Also, there are five other fights on the card that features ten other fighters looking to make a name on the MMA stage.

Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division fight as Greg Van Der Creek (1-0-0) competes against Kirk “Big Country” Grinlinton (3-4-0). Van Der Creek is returning to action after a five plus year layoff, but he did defeat Jim Reed in his lone pro MMA fight. Grinlinton has only won one of his last three fights, with that lone victory coming over Andy Hunter at a Tommy Tran Productions event. Despite the very poor MMA record, Grinlinton is a more active fighter than Van Der Creek and that will get him the victory.

A pair of flyweights are set for action next as Zach Hubbard (1-0-0) is in action against Jeimeson Saudino (5-1-0). Hubbard made his professional MMA debut a little over four months ago, defeating Dustin Hill by first round TKO. Saudino will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak, with two of the victories coming in the Sugar Creek Showdown promotion. Saudino has been looking pretty dominant in his four fight winning streak and he will continue his dominance as he wins his fifth straight.

Welterweights will step into the cage next as Aaron “Daddy Long Legs” Derrow (12-6-0) does battle against Marcio Navarro (8-8-0). Derrow will enter the fight riding a three fight losing streak, but he does hold a victory over UFC veteran Rich Clementi. Navarro has only won one of his last four fights, but that lone victory did come over Strikeforce veteran Rudy Bears. Each fighter is struggling to gain a victory as this point, but it will be Derrow breaking through to get a victory.

We move to the featherweight division for the next fight as Brian “Mr. D” Davidson (10-4-0) battles Jesus “The Pit” Adame (4-3-0). Davidson has won five of his last six fights, with one of those five victories coming over UFC veteran Jens Pulver. Adame is returning the action after a yearlong break, with his last fight being a loss to recent Bellator signee Bubba Jenkins. Davidson has only been stopped once in his last six fights, he will get to win six of his last seven as he gets the win on Friday Night.

Up next is a lightweight division fight as Jake “The Librarian” Lindsey (5-0-0) takes on Zach “The Altar Boy” Freeman (7-0-0). Lindsey is currently undefeated in professional MMA competition, with three victories coming in the Victory Fighting Championships. Freeman is also undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, with five of those victories coming in the opening round. This is an awesome battle of the undefeated to check out, but it will be Freeman staying undefeated in the end.

Headlining this card is a heavyweight division fight as Bobby “The Dominator” Lashley (7-2-0) faces “Concrete” Kevin Asplund (15-4-0). Lashley is returning to MMA competition after a year-plus layoff, with his last fight being a loss to James Thompson at Super Fight League III. Asplund will enter the fight riding a three fight losing streak, with one of those losses coming to Bellator veteran Brett Rogers. Neither fighter has been very stellar entering this fight, but Lashley’s wrestling should be enough to secure a victory.
