The upstart World Series Of Fighting promotion returns to action this Friday Night with UFC veteran Jon Fitch in the main event. In what can be considered a rare case in MMA, the five fight preliminary card may be considered the better card when compared to the main card. The preliminary card, five fights in total, features a pair of UFC veterans and the brother of WEC veteran Carson Beebe.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division fight as Brenson Hansen (5-1-0) competes against Josh Montalvo (0-0-0). Hansen is currently undefeated in WSOF competition, having defeated Tom Marcellino at WSOF II. Montalvo will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he did compete multiple times as an amateur. This is a bad opponent for Montalvo to make his pro debut against as Hansen will walk away with the victory.
Middleweights will step into the cage next as Kendrick “Big Problem†Miree (5-0-0) does battle with Krasimir “The Wrestler†Mladenov (9-0-0). Miree will be making his WSOF debut in this fight and he holds a victory over Bellator veteran Dave Vitkay. Mladenov will also be making his WSOF debut in this fight, but he has spent some time in the MAX Fight promotion. Somebodies “0†has to go in this one and it will be Mladenov’s “0†going away as Miree gets the win on Friday Night.
A pair of bantamweights will compete next as Carson “Little Juggernaut†Beebe (13-2-0) battles Joe Murphy (6-0-0). Beebe is the younger brother of WEC veteran Chase Beebe and this fight will mark the fighters WSOF debut. Murphy will also be making his WSOF debut in this fight and the fighter has not competed in well over a year. Beebe has been looking dominant thus far in his professional MMA career and he will end the undefeated streak of Murphy.
Up next is a lightweight division fight as John “Guns†Gunderson (34-14-2) takes on Dan “The Upgrade†Lauzon (16-4-0). Gunderson has won four of seven since his UFC release in 2010, which includes victories over UFC veterans Karo Parisyan and Justin Buchholz. Lauzon has been undefeated since his UFC after a loss at UFC 114, but he has not competed in nearly two years. The winner of this fight could be called up to the UFC or a WSOF main card fight and it will be Gunderson getting that victory.
Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Jerrod Sanders (12-1-0) faces Jeff Smith (10-1-0). Sanders will enter the fight riding a ten fight winning streak, primarily competing in the C3 Fights promotion. Smith will also enter the fight riding a ten fight winning streak, but he has not competed in nearly a year. These are two fighters on incredible win streaks at the moment, but it will be Sanders keeping his streak alive.
