Despite having a card that was decimated by injuries, the UFC will trudge along this Saturday Night with UFC 161. Like the majority of UFC pay-per-views, the preliminary card will be split up amongst the FX network and Facebook. The Facebook portion of the preliminary card will only feature two fights, but one of the fights features a rising star in the bantamweight division.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Yves “Tiger†Jabouin (18-8-0) battles Dustin “The Disciple†Pague (11-7-0). Jabouin has won three of five fights under the UFC banner, with a notable victory over Ian Loveland at UFC 134. Pague has only won one of four in UFC competition, with his lone victory in the promotion coming over Jared Papazian at UFC On FX III. Pague could very well be fighting for his UFC career in this one, but it will be Jabouin getting the victory.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division fight as Mitch “Danger Zone†Clarke (9-2-0) faces John “The One†Maguire (18-5-0). Clarke is currently winless in UFC competition, with his losses coming to John Cholish and Anton Kuivanen. Maguire will be dropping to the lightweight division in this fight after going 2-2-0 as a welterweight in the UFC. This is a must win situation for both fighters in this contest, but it will be Maguire making a successful lightweight debut.
