Despite multiple line-up changes due to various fighter injuries, the UFC is returning to pay-per-view with an event still worth checking out. The main event has possible UFC Light Heavyweight Title implications as Rashad Evans faces Dan Henderson. Also, there are two heavyweight division bouts and a pair of female MMA competitors who are making their UFC debuts.
Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division fight as Pat “HD†Barry (8-5-0) competes against Shawn “The Savage†Jordan (14-4-0). Barry has won two of his last three in UFC competition, most notably defeating Shane Del Rosario at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale. Jordan has also won two of three in his UFC run, with his last fight being a victory over Mike Russow at UFC On Fox VI. Barry is one of the most violent strikers in the heavyweight division and he will demonstrate why as he defeats Jordan.
We move to the women’s bantamweight division for the next contest as Alexis “Ally-gator†Davis (13-5-0) does battle with Rosi “The Surgeon†Sexton (13-2-0). Davis will be making her UFC debut in this fight, but she did go undefeated in her short run with Invicta FC. Sexton will also be making her UFC debut in this fight and she went undefeated during her time in the Cage Warriors promotion. These are two of the more underrated women in the UFC right now, but it will be Davis making a successful UFC debut.
A pair of light heavyweights are up next as Ryan “Big Deal†Jimmo (17-2-0) battles Igor “The Duke†Pokrajac (25-9-0-1NC). Jimmo has split both of his UFC fights, defeating Anthony Perosh and suffering a defeat to James Te Huna. Pokrajac has won three of his last five under the UFC banner, most notably defeating Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 140. These two got a huge opportunity to be on the pay-per-view after injuries forced card changes, but it will be Pokrajac taking advantage of the opportunity to get a win.
Up next is a heavyweight division fight as Stipe Miocic (9-1-0) takes on Roy “Big Country†Nelson (19-7-0). Miocic will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, as Stefan Struve defeated him at UFC On Fuel TV V. Nelson will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, last defeating Cheick Kongo at UFC 159. This was a fight that was put together a little over a month ago to add star power to the card, but it will be Nelson winning his fourth straight bout.
Headlining this card is a light heavyweight division fight as Rashad “Suga†Evans (17-3-1) faces Dan “Hendo†Henderson (29-9-0). Evans will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Jon Jones and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Henderson has split both of his fights in his most recent UFC run, defeating Mauricio Rua and suffering a defeat to Lyoto Machida. This is a must win fight if either fighter wants a title shot in the future and it will be Henderson handing Evans his third straight defeat.
