After a short break, the Cage Warriors promotion returns to action the afternoon of the highly anticipated UFC 162 card. Cage Warriors officials have put an excellent card together for the fans to check out, with the top rated Bola Omoyele in the headliner. This portion of the preliminary card, which will not be airing in any fashion, is filled with top fighters looking to move up in their MMA career.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Florian Calin (2-0-0) battles Patrick “Paddy†Pimblett (3-0-0). Calin is returning to action after a year-plus layoff, but his last fight was a victory over Steve Stanley at Ultimate Challenge MMA 26. Pimblett is undefeated thus far as a professional MMA fighter and has yet to have any of his career fights go past the first round. The year-plus layoff is going to hurt Calin in this one as it will be Pimblett staying undefeated when this one is done.
Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division fight as Hayden Critchfield (6-5-0-1NC) faces Charlie Watts (3-1-0). Critchfield will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and has not won a fight in almost two years. Watts will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Henry Fadipe at Cage Warriors 51. Watts may be coming off of a loss, but he has been looking fantastic thus far since turning pro and he will rebound with a victory here.
