Right before the highly anticipated UFC 162 card takes place this Saturday Night, the Cage Warriors promotion returns with a card of their own. The card will be headlined by a top battle between the highly touted fighters Vincent Del Guerra and Bola Omoyele. Also, there are five other great fights worth checking out as they will impact the Cage Warriors rankings in a big way.
Kicking off the action is a welterweight division fight as Grzegorz Jankowski (8-1-0) competes against Brad “The Crazy Kid†Wheeler (9-9-0). Jankowski will enter the fight riding a six fight winning streak and has spent his entire career in the Fusion Fighting promotion. Wheeler has rotated wins and losses in his last five fights, with his last fight being a loss to Jamie Rogers at Cage Warriors 54. This could be the breakout fight for Jankowski and he will breakout with a victory in this encounter.
More welterweight action is up next as “Relentless†Warren Kee (7-2-1) does battle with Philip “Honey Badger†Mulpeter (5-3-0). Kee will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with one loss coming to this cards headliner…Bola Omoyele. Mulpeter is currently winless in Cage Warriors competition, having dropped a fight to Tommy Quinn at Cage Warriors 51. These are two fighters who are in desperate need of a victory and it will be Kee getting that victory.
A pair of featherweights are battling next as Nad Narimani (5-0-0) is in action against Graham “Afterburner†Turner (22-7-0). Narimani is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, but this will be his Cage Warriors debut. Turner will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and is the current Vision FC Featherweight Champion. Narimani is a good undefeated prospect, but Turner will be too much for him and will end his undefeated streak.
Middleweight action is taking place next as Brett Bassett (8-3-0) battles Denniston “Mad Max†Sutherland (19-10-0). Bassett has won three of his last four fights, with the lone loss coming to Cage Warriors veteran Brett Sizeland. Sutherland has only won one of his last three fights and has previously competed against UFC veteran Tom Watson. These are two fighters who are on two different paths at the moment, which is why Bassett will pull the upset here.
Up next is another featherweight division fight as Patrik “Piki†Berisha (6-3-0-1NC) faces Robbie “The Flame†Olivier (19-9-1-1NC). Berisha will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak, with both victories coming in the Kombat Komplett promotion. Olivier will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak and does hold a victory over UFC veteran Brad Pickett. Olivier is at a far higher level than Berisha at this point in their careers and that will show as Olivier wins his fourth straight.
Headlining this card is a welterweight division fight as Vincent “The Warrior†Del Guerra (20-8-0) takes on Bola “Cash Flow†Omoyele (6-1-0). Del Guerra has won seven of his last eight fights and none of those fights have gone past the second round. Omoyele will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and has primarily competed in the Ultimate Challenge MMA promotion. These are two fighters who could be nearing a title shot with a victory, but it will be Del Guerra getting that victory.
