CAGE WARRIORS 57 MMAJUNKIE.COM MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 7/19/2013 8:52 PM

The Cage Warriors promotion returns to action after a two week layoff with what could be the biggest event in the company’s history. The event could be the biggest because of the star power involved, including Paul Daley, Ronnie Mann, Norman Paraisy and Jack Mason. The event will definitely be worth checking out as it will be streamed live and free on the MMAjunkie.com website.

Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Chris Fishgold (8-0-0) dukes it out with Marcin Wrzosek (6-1-0). Fishgold is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, having defeated Steve O’Keefe at Cage Warriors 52. Wrzosek will be making his Cage Warriors debut in this fight, but has previously competed in the Fight UK promotion. Fishgold is looking like the next breakout star of Cage Warriors and he will show us why with a victory on Saturday Night.

Middleweights will enter the cage next as Lee “Leeroy” Barnes (12-10-0-1NC) competes against Norman Parairy (11-3-2-1NC). Barnes will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and he has previously competed in the BAMMA promotion. Paraisy has been undefeated since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Brett Cooper at Bellator 89. Paraisy has seen far better competition than Barnes at this point of their careers and Paraisy will show that level of expertise with another win.

A pair of welterweights are in action next as Ali Arish (19-2-0) does battle against Jack “The Stone” Mason (24-11-0). Arish is currently winless in Cage Warriors competition, but will enter the fight on an eight fight winning streak. Mason will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak, which includes three victories in the Cage Warriors promotion. This fight could wind up being the show stealer of the event and it will be Mason picking up the victory.

We move to the bantamweight division for the next bout as Ronnie “Iron Mann” Mann (21-6-1) battles Jose Luis “Titin” Zapater (17-9-0). Mann will be competing for the first time since his Bellator release, which came after a loss to Rodrigo Lima at Bellator 94. Zapater will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Sirwan Kikai and Abdel Ali. This is a must win fight for both competitors in this one, but it will be Mann getting that much needed win.

Up next is a welterweight division fight as Henry “Herculeez” Fadipe (5-5-1) takes on Danny “Hot Chocolate” Roberts (8-1-0). Fadipe is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, having defeated Charlie Watts at Cage Warriors 51. Roberts is also undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, most notably defeating Jack Mason at Cage Warriors 48. How this fight got to be on this part of the card is beyond me, but it will be Roberts picking up the easy win.

Headlining this card is a welterweight division fight as Lukasz Chlewicki (10-2-1) faces Paul “Semtex” Daley (32-12-2). Chlewicki will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and has previously competed against UFC veteran Damian Maia. Daley will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, most notably defeating Rudy Bears at Bellator 72. This is an important moment for Cage Warriors to have Daley return to the company and it will be a successful return for him.
