CAGE WARRIORS 58 FACEBOOK PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 8/23/2013 3:59 PM

The Cage Warriors promotion returns this Saturday with a card featuring a plethora of top rated international talent. While the main card is stacked on its own with seven total bouts, there are also four bouts on the Facebook streamed preliminary card. The preliminary card will be featuring four fights that will affect the welterweight and featherweight divisions.

Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as Alex Enlund (7-2-0-1NC) competes against Sebastian Romanowski (7-1-0). Enlund has split both of his Cage Warriors bouts, defeating Ashan Gilani and suffering a defeat to Martin McDonough. Romanowski will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak, with two of those victories coming in the opening round. This fight will be an excellent way to kick off the preliminary card, but it will be Enlund winning either way.

Welterweights will compete next as Khusein Khaliev (5-1-0) will be in action against Mihail Serdyuk (6-1-0). Khaliev will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came against Yasubey Enomoto at M-1 Challenge 34. Serdyuk will also be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat and has only had one career fight go to a decision. These are two fighters who are looking to avoid a losing streak and it will be Khaliev doing so in this one.

Up next is a featherweight division contest as Liam “Bad Intentions” James (7-5-0) takes on Akhad Mamedov (4-1-0). James has won two of four fights under the Cage Warriors banner, last defeating Stephen Coll at Cage Warriors 55. Mamedov will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and has previously competed in the Pro FC promotion. Mamedov is on quite a roll right now and that roll will continue on Saturday as the fighter wins his fifth straight.

Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division fight as Mohsen Bahari (5-1-0) faces Alexander Voitenko (9-3-0). Bahari has split both of his Cage Warriors appearances, defeating Piotr Ptasinski and suffering a defeat to Matt Inman. Voitenko is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, having defeated Dan Hope at Cage Warriors 46. Bahari got shocked in his last Cage Warriors appearance with a heel hook, but he will rebound to beat Voitenko on Saturday.
