When there is no UFC, Bellator or WSOF on tap, MMA fans can always expect to check out a top notch card from the Cage Warriors promotion. The UK-based MMA promotion has traveled all the way to Chechnya for a seven fight main card that is loaded from top to bottom. The event will be headlined by a welterweight division encounter pitting Viktor Halmi battling Beslan Isaev.
Kicking off the action is a welterweight division bout as Bagautdin Sharaputdinov (7-2-0) is in action against Matt Inman (11-5-0). Sharaputdinov will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak, with four of those wins coming in the Pro FC promotion. Inman has won two of three under the Cage Warriors banner and has previously competed against UFC veteran Colin Fletcher. Inman is becoming a force in the Cage Warriors Welterweight Division and he will show why with a win in this one.
The middleweight division will be featured next as Pavel Kusch (13-4-0) competes against Chris Scott (6-2-0). Kusch will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and none of his seventeen career fights have gone to the judge’s scorecards. Scott is currently winless in Cage Warriors competition, having dropped a fight to Mats Nilsson at Cage Warriors 53. Kusch is in need of a victory in a bad way here and he will rebound from his recent setbacks to defeat Scott.
Lightweights will be competing next as Ivan “Buki†Buchinger (22-4-0) stands across the cage from Jamal Magomedov (5-1-0). Buchinger has won two of three in Cage Warriors competition, plus has fought UFC veterans Conor McGregor, Anton Kuivanen and Akira Corassani. Magomedov will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak, with his lone loss coming to UFC veteran Azamat Gashimov. Buchinger has a massive experience advantage over Magomedov and that experience will get him the victory.
More middleweight action is up next as Bakhtiyar Abbasov (8-2-0) dukes it out with Charles “Gracie†Andrade (24-12-0-1NC). Abbasov will enter the fight riding a six fight winning streak, with two wins coming in the Pro FC promotion. Andrade has won four of his last five fights, plus he defeated UFC veteran Assuerio Silva in his professional MMA debut. Experience again will play a factor in this fight, just like the last one, and Andrade will notch another victory in his belt.
A pair of bantamweights will fight next as Ruslan “The Predator†Abiltarov (10-3-0) faces James “Job Done†Brum (12-2-0). Abiltarov will enter the fight on the strength of a four fight winning streak, which includes a three fight run in the Gladiator Fighting Championships. Brum is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, last defeating Olivier Pastor at Cage Warriors Fight Night VIII. Brum is on the verge of a bantamweight title shot and should get one after winning his sixth straight in Cage Warriors.
Up next is a heavyweight division fight as Michal “Longer†Andryszak (9-3-0-1NC) takes on Ion Cutelaba (4-0-0-1NC). Andryszak has won four of his last five fights and has been a longtime veteran of the Fighters Arena promotion. Cutelaba is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, but is coming off of a no contest against Murod Hanturaev. This is a potential name making fight for both competitors and it will be Andryszak ending his foe’s undefeated streak.
Headlining this card is a welterweight division fight as Viktor Halmi (14-5-0) looks for the win against Beslan Isaev (23-6-0). Halmi will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and the fighter has not earned a victory in nearly two years. Isaev will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he does hold a victory over UFC veteran Xavier Foupa-Pokam. This is a great way to cap off the Cage Warriors card, but it will be Isaev moving his winning streak to five.
