ONE FC X IPPV PREVIEW

By David Tees on 9/12/2013 2:03 PM

Unless you live in one of the few countries that are airing this event on TV, the highly touted One FC X card is only watchable via iPPV. iPPV or not, this is a great MMA card worth checking out, with the inaugural One FC Flyweight Champion getting crowned. If a big title bout was not enough for you, then there are also seven other fights with a lot of great talent stepping into the cage.

Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division fight as Mahmoud “Hellboy” Hassan (1-1-0) competes against Alain Ngalani (0-0-0). Hassan will be returning to action after a one year layoff, with none of his MMA fights going past the opening round. Ngalani will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he is a former world muay thai champion. Ngalani is jumping to the MMA universe for a reason and he will show how ready he is by defeating Hassan in this one.

A pair of flyweights are competing next as Brianata Rosadhi (1-0-0) is in action against Raymond Tan (1-0-0). Rosadhi made his professional MMA debut in January of this year, defeating Alex Hendro Batubara at a Syena MMA Championship event. Tan is returning to action after being away from MMA for almost two years, last competing at a December 2011 Malaysian Fighting Championships event. The long layoff is going to be to the detriment of Tan in this one as it will be Rosadhi remaining undefeated in the end.

We go to the light heavyweight division for the next fight as Vincent Majid (0-0-0) does battle against Eugenio Tan (1-1-0). Majid will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he does have experience in other combat sports. Tan will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Muhammed Salih at a Malaysian Fighting Championships event. Tan did not look very impressive in his last fight and Majid will take advantage to have a successful pro MMA debut.

Featherweights will be entering the cage next as Samir “Somchai” Ahmad (2-0-0) will be duking it out with Bruno Pucci (2-0-0). Ahmad is currently undefeated in One FC competition, having defeated Shannon Wiratchai at One FC VIII. Pucci will be returning to action after a year break from competition and has yet to have a fight go to the judge’s scorecard. These are two good up and coming talents in One FC, but it will be Ahmad keeping his streak alive when it’s all over.

More light heavyweight action is up next as Jake Butler (2-0-0) will be in action against James Kouame (2-1-0). Butler has spent his entire career in the One FC promotion, defeating both Antoni Romulo and Swain Cangco. Kouame will be entering the fight riding a two fight winning streak and he is a veteran of the Wreck MMA promotion. Butler has been very dominant thus far under the One FC banner and his dominance will continue as he defeats Kouame.

We move to the welterweight division for the next fight as Vincent Latoel (13-13-2) faces Willy Ni (15-7-0). Latoel has only won one of his last six fights and the fighter has not achieved a win in well over four years. Ni will enter the fight riding a five fight losing streak and he is returning to action after a four year break from competition. This is a must win fight if either competitor is to remain relevant in MMA competition, but it will be Latoel notching the victory.

Headlining this card is a lightweight division fight as Kotetsu “No Face” Boku (20-8-2) takes on Vuyisile “The Cheetah” Colossa (5-4-0). Boku has split both of his past One FC appearances, defeating Zorobabel Moreira and suffering a defeat to Shinya Aoki. Colossa is currently winless in One FC competition, dropping fights to both Yui Chul Nam and Lowen Tynanes. Boku is one of the better talents currently under the One FC banner and he will show why as he gives Colossa his third straight defeat.
