In a weekend filled with more MMA action than one can handle, the Legacy Fighting Championships has put a show together with a lot of big name talent. The main event will be a lightweight division encounter that pits Pete Spratt against Tim Means in a battle of UFC veterans. Also, UFC veteran Leonard Garcia makes his second promotional bout and Bellator vet DJ Linderman returns.
Kicking off the action is a women’s atomweight division fight as Paulina “Firefox†Granados (2-0-0) competes against Tessa Simpson (2-1-0). Granados is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated Maria Lopez ay Legacy FC 20. Simpson is looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came to Anita Rodriguez at Bully Bash & Brawl II. These are two atomweights who are at the start of their MMA careers and it will be Granados remaining undefeated in the end.
A pair of heavyweights are competing next as DJ “Da Protégé†Linderman (15-5-0) is in action against Richard “The Black Eagle†Odoms (7-1-0). Linderman will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak, which includes a win over Bellator veteran Mike Hayes at a War MMA event. Odoms will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA loss, which came to Jared Rosholt at Legacy FC 17. This is an intriguing heavyweight bout that is worth checking out and it will be Linderman winning his third straight bout.
Middleweights will be stepping into the cage next as “Hybrid†Hayward Charles (9-4-0) does battle with Roger “The Silverback†Narvaez (5-0-0). Charles is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated Russell Brewer at Legacy FC 13. Narvaez is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and he has only had one fight go past the opening round. These are two fighters who are both on good runs right now, but it will be Narvaez remaining undefeated in the end.
More middleweight action is up next as Joseph Daily (4-4-0) is going to be in the cage against Rodrigo Pinheiro (3-1-0). Daily will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and does have prior experience in the Bellator Fighting Championships. Pinheiro is returning to action after a three year layoff and last competed against UFC veteran Andrew Craig. How this fight got to be a part of the main card is beyond my comprehension, but it will be Daily pulling the upset.
Up next is a featherweight division fight as Leonard “Bad Boy†Garcia (16-11-1) battles Nick “The Ghost†Gonzalez (18-11-0-1NC). Garcia is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated Rey Trujillo by knockout at Legacy FC 21. Gonzalez has rotated wins and losses in his last six MMA bouts, with his last fight being a loss to Kevin Aguilar at Legacy FC 17. Garcia has looked like an improved fighter since his UFC release and he will notch a second win in Legacy FC competition.
Headlining this card is a lightweight division affair as Tim “The Dirty Bird†Means (18-5-1) faces “The Secret Weapon†Pete Spratt (25-22-0). Means will be competing for the first time since his UFC release, which came after a loss to Danny Castillo at UFC On Fox VIII. Spratt has won two of his last three bouts, with that lone loss coming to Bellator veteran Dan Hornbuckle at Legacy FC 17. Means could only need a win or two to get back in the UFC and he will defeat Spratt to get that win in the main event.
