Capping off what is a major weekend of MMA events will be the World Series Of Fighting V, which features a big main event as Andrei Arlovski battles Mike Kyle. If that main event was not enough, the semi-finals of the WSOF Middleweight Title Tournament is taking place. Also, there is a Gracie family member on the card and Georgi Karakhanyan will be making his promotional debut.
Kicking off the action is a featherweight division fight as “Insane†Georgi Karakhanyan (21-3-1) competes against Waylon Lowe (14-4-0). Karakhanyan will be making his WSOF debut on a six fight winning streak, last defeating UFC veteran Din Thomas. Lowe has been undefeated since his UFC release, which includes a victory over Cameron Dollar at the WSOF II. Karakhanyan has deserved a spot on a big promotion for a long time now and he will take advantage of the opportunity to get the win.
Heavyweight division action is up next as Rolles Gracie (8-1-0) is in action against Derrick “Caveman†Mehmen (15-5-0). Gracie has been undefeated since his UFC release, with notable victories over Bob Sapp and Tony Bonello. Mehmen will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak and the fighter is a veteran of the Strikeforce promotion. Gracie has been looking very good since leaving the UFC and he will win his fifth straight bout on Saturday Night.
A WSOF Middleweight Tournament Semi-Final Round bout is up next as Elvis “The King†Mutapcic (13-2-0) battles Jesse “JT Money†Taylor (26-9-0). Mutapcic will be making his promotional debut in this fight and is a former MFC Middleweight Champion. Taylor will also be making his WSOF debut in this fight, but he is a veteran of both the UFC and Strikeforce. These are the two tournament favorites to take the gold home, but it will be Taylor advancing to the finals.
Up next is a WSOF Middleweight Tournament Semi-Final Round Fight as David Branch (12-3-0) takes on Danillo “Indio†Villefort (14-4-0). Branch is currently undefeated in WSOF competition, with victories over Dustin Jacoby and Paulo Filho. Villefort is also undefeated in WSOF competition, with his victory coming over Kris McCray at WSOF II. The majority of this fight should be taking place on the ground, but it will be Branch getting the win either way.
Headlining this card is a heavyweight division fight as Andrei “The Pitbull†Arlovski (19-10-0-1NC) faces Mike “MAK†Kyle (20-9-1-2NC). Arlovski has split both of his previous WSOF appearances, defeating Devin Cole and suffering a defeat to Anthony Johnson. Kyle will be making his promotional debut in this bout, but he recently defeated UFC veteran Travis Wiuff. This fight should be nothing short of a slugfest and it will be Arlovski notching the victory to win his second WSOF bout.
