The UFC is returning to pay-per-view on Saturday Night with a card that will be featuring a pair of title bouts in the main events. The UFC will also be airing four fights from the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1, with a TUF finalist in the featured spot. Also, a Bellator veteran will be making his UFC debut and a top rated welterweight prospect will be in action.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Mitch Gagnon (9-2-0) competes against Dustin “The Diamond†Kimura (10-0-0). Gagnon has won one of two in UFC competition, defeating Walel Watson and suffering a defeat to Bryan Caraway. Kimura is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Chico Camus by submission at UFC 156. These are two bantamweights who could be heading for bigger divisional fights after UFC 165 and it will be Kimura winning to get those fights.
Welterweights will be competing next as Chris “The Menace†Clements (11-4-0-1NC) battles Stephen “Wonderboy†Thompson (7-1-0). Clements is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Keith Wisniewski by split decision at UFC 145. Thompson has won two of three under the UFC banner, most notably defeating Nah-Shon Burrell at UFC 160. This should be an exciting duel between two top strikers in the division, but it will be Thompson getting the win.
Up next is a bantamweight division fight as Ivan “Pride Of El Salvador†Menjivar (25-10-0) faces Wilson Reis (16-4-0). Menjivar has won four of six in UFC competition, with his last fight being a loss to Urijah Faber at UFC 157. Reis will be making his UFC debut in the fight, but he is a veteran of Bellator and was the lone Elite XC Bantamweight Champion. Reis is a talented fighter who took the fight on late notice, which is a big disadvantage that Menjivar will take advantage of to get the win.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division fight as Myles “Fury†Jury (12-0-0) takes on Mike “The Martian†Ricci (8-3-0). Jury is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Chris Saunders, Michael Johnson and Ramsey Nijem. Ricci has won one of two under the UFC banner and he was a finalist on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16 reality show. Fury is quickly becoming a contender in the lightweight division and he will show why with his fourth straight victory in the UFC.
