Most fans of Bellator are looking forward to the first ever Bellator pay-per-view as the biggest card in the promotions history. However, if somebody were to skip over this card on Spike TV, they are easily missing out on one of the better cards the promotion has put on. This event will not only feature the semi-finals of the welterweight tournament, but also the Bellator debut of a UFC veteran.
Kicking off the action is a middleweight division fight as Kendall “Da Spyder†Grove (18-13-0-1NC) competes against Joe “The Doctor†Vedepo (14-6-0). Grove is a UFC veteran who has only won one of his last four bouts, with that win coming over Danny Mitchell at the inaugural Global Warriors Challenge pay-per-view. Vedepo has won six of nine since his UFC release, with a notable victory over Oli Thompson at a ZT Fight Night event. Grove has not been very spectacular since his UFC run ended, but it will be more pain for him as Vedepo gets the victory.
Heavyweights will be competing next as Peter “The Chief†Graham (8-5-0) battles Eric “The American Soldier†Prindle (8-3-0-1NC). Graham will enter the fight riding a seven fight winning streak, which includes a victory over Aleksander Emelianenko. Prindle has only won one of his last three fights and has previously challenged for the Bellator Heavyweight Title. Graham has seen a career resurrection in the last few years and it will continue as he defeats Prindle in this one.
Up next is a welterweight tournament semi-final fight as Ron Keslar (10-3-0) takes on War Machine (14-4-0). Keslar found himself a spot in the tournament semi-finals after defeating Luis Melo by split decision at Bellator 100. Machine got himself a seat in the tournament semi-finals after defeating Vaughn Anderson at Bellator 100. Machine is the biggest star from a “name†standpoint that is left in the tournament and he will keep that name alive by advancing to the finals.
Headlining this card is a welterweight tournament semi-final bout as Rick “Genghis†Hawn (16-2-0) faces Brent Weedman (22-8-1). Hawn was able to call himself a tournament semi-finalist after a victory over Herman Terrado at Bellator 100. Weedman found himself competing in the second round of the tournament when he defeated Justin Baesman at Bellator 100. These are two fighters who have advanced deep in the tournament before, but it will be Hawn advancing deep this time around.
