We are simply a week away from the highly anticipated pay-per-view of the Bellator Fighting Championships. That does not mean that this show should be avoided, because if you do so, you are missing another big week of Bellator action. This event will not only feature the lightweight tournament semi-finals, but a big clash of heavyweight competitors.
Kicking off the action is a middleweight division bout as Eugene “The Sniper†Fadiora (12-1-0) competes against Andreas “Sweet Swede†Spang (8-3-0). Fadiora will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak and has previously fought UFC veteran Gunnar Nelson. Spang has competed in two separate middleweight tournament, making it to the semi-finals in season seven. Fadiora is in a perfect position to score an upset and get into a future tournament, which is what will happen here.
Heavyweights are up next as Siala-Mou “Mighty Mo†Siliga (4-2-0) takes on Ron “The Monster†Sparks (8-2-0). Siliga is currently undefeated in Bellator competition, having defeated Dan Charles by TKO at Bellator 100. Sparks will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak and he has competed in past heavyweight tournaments. This fight should be nothing short of a brutal slugfest, but it will be Siliga staying undefeated in Bellator.
Up next is a lightweight tournament semi-final fight as Alexander “Tiger†Sarnavskiy (24-1-0) battles Ricardo Tirloni (16-4-0). Sarnavskiy punched his ticket to the semi-finals after defeating Marcus Davis by submission at Bellator 101. Tirloni was a late addition to the tournament, but defeated Rich Clementi at Bellator 101 to advance to round two. Sarnavskiy’s lone career loss was an upset to Rich Clementi in season eight, but he is back on track and will advance to the finals.
Headlining this card is a lightweight tournament semi-final fight as Saad Awad (15-5-0) faces “Ill†Will Brooks (11-1-0). Awad was able to move onto the tournament’s semi-finals after defeating Martin Stapleton at Bellator 101. Brooks got himself a position in the second round of the tourney when he defeated John Alessio at Bellator 101. Awad won the first bout between the two at Bellator 91 and he will do so once more to advance to the finals.
