With five major MMA events taking place in a two day period this weekend, one had to know that AXS TV would get in on the action with Resurrection Fighting Alliance X. The event will be headlined by a bout between Mike Rhodes and Alan Jouban for the vacant welterweight title. The preliminary card, while short on fights, is still worth paying attention to in this hectic MMA weekend.
Kicking off the action is a light heavyweight division fight as Josh Christensen (11-4-0) battles “Unbreakable†Brent Stepanek (2-1-0). Christensen will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, with all the wins coming in the Midwest Fighting Championships. Stepanek has only fought once in the last three years and has yet to have any of his fights go past the opening round. Christensen has a huge experience advantage and that will be enough for him to defeat Stepanek in this one.
Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division fight as Darrick Minner (5-2-0) faces William “Frankie†Osborne (1-0-0). Minner is a longtime veteran of the Disorderly Conduct promotion and has yet to have a fight go past the first round. Osborne made his professional MMA debut in June of this year, defeating Eldis Sakanovic at a War Party Cage Fighting event. Minner has been a dominator thus far in his professional MMA career and he will end the undefeated streak of Osborne in this one.
