Despite the disappointing fact that this Bellator event will not be airing on pay-per-view, the show must go on with the promotion. The main card is loaded with a trio of title bouts, plus the finals of the promotions “Fight Master†reality show. The preliminary card is loaded up as well, with a pair of UFC veterans stepping into the Bellator cage.
Kicking off the action is a lightweight division fight as Darren Smith (4-3-0) competes against Josh Smith (8-5-0). Darren has only won one of his last three fights, with that lone victory coming over James Moontasri at a Fight Club OC event. Josh is returning to the cage after being away for over a year, but he will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak. Darren may have the poorer record of the two fighters, but he is the more active and that will carry him to victory.
Featherweights will be stepping into the cage next as Joe “JC Plentee Of Skills†Camacho (13-18-3) does battle against Cleber Luciano (8-5-0). Camacho has only won one of his last five fights and he has not won a fight in well over two full years. Luciano has won one of two in Bellator competition, with that lone win coming over Mario Navarro at Bellator 85. Barring a huge upset from taking place, Luciano should easily walk away with another victory in this one.
More lightweight division action is next as Michael “The Joker†Guymon (14-6-1) is in action against Aaron “Blood Spiller†Miller (14-8-0-1NC). Guymon has won two of three bouts since his UFC release, which came after a loss to DaMarques Johnson at UFC Fights For The Troops II. Miller will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak, with a pair of victories coming in Bellator competition. Guymon is nearing the tail end of a pretty good MMA career and it will be Miller defeating the veteran to earn his biggest career win.
A pair of light heavyweights are competing next as Brandon “Bull†Halsey (4-0-0) takes on Hector “Sick Dog†Ramirez (10-5-1). Halsey is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighters, which includes a victory over UFC veteran Shonie Carter. Ramirez has won four of six fights since his UFC release, last defeating Savo Kosic by decision at Bellator 99. Halsey has already defeated one UFC veteran and he will add another to his list after he is done on Saturday Night.
Up next is a welterweight division fight as Jesse Juarez (20-8-0) stands across the cage from Joe “Mongo†Williams (9-1-0). Juarez will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, with one of those wins coming over UFC veteran Robert Whittaker. Williams has won two of three fights under the Bellator banner, with his last win coming over UFC veteran Jamie Yager. This is definitely the fight to keep an eye on for the preliminary card, but it will be Juarez notching the win.
Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division fight as Alejandro “Alex†Garcia (14-5-0-1NC) faces Cristiano “Soldier Boy†Souza (6-0-0). Garcia has won two of his last four fights, most notably defeating Roberto Vargas at a King Of The Cage event. Souza has already competed twice in the Bellator Fighting Championships, but he has not competed in almost a year. Garcia is a late replacement for UFC veteran Karo Parisyan and being a late notice fighter will hurt him as Souza gets the win.
